Given our "kiss of death" history with FA wide receivers, Johnson would basically be pre-planning his retirement by signing with us. Also, with our current team situation I am guessing that we are pretty far down on his priority list anyway.

I would be up for signing him, but we need to be realistic with his compensation IMO....he is past his prime and not worth top dollar at this point.

There is a HEAVY push for him in Philly...A lot of buzz up here. I just don't get it though. Why go after older guys like Gore and Johnson for the high paced offense. I get it that they are character guys and established/hard workers, but Chip is leaving a lot of people scratch their heads...but hey, at least he is making moves anyway...

If they didn't foresee this happening then they don't deserve the jobs they have!

You ever been to Seattle? It rains every day. This **** gets tiresome reaaaal quick. As for being a better market, maybe now obviously but 5-10 years ago I think Tennessee was in a fine position.

People don't want to come to losers, bottom line. Those who do, are based on the paycheck and their play normally coincides with their moral bankruptcy.

I am loving what Kelly is doing....so far, since he was given personnel control, he has behaved the way I suspected (and hoped) he might....trying to turn Eagles into Ducks. I just hope that this behavior carries on until draft day, and that we are smart enough to extract maximum value for that #2 pick if he comes calling.....

Keep talkin about the past. We would have to overpay for anyone at this point. Sitting back does nothing but hurt us. Instead of over paying for a guy with great talent we will over pay a guy with average to below average talent.

I am really not sure I see the point of the rule in the first place. The reasoning is that it puts folks on a level playing field, but I do not see how this helps or hurts. It just looks to me like a silly rule that does nothing but annoy management, players, and agents.....JMHO.

Dood. The problem is that the guys with great talent don't want to come here, period. For example:
Cobb took less than his value to stay with GB. There was zero chance he'd sign here if the Titans were interested. They'd likely have to pay him double to even consider. Recipe for disaster.

If a player can make 3 million and possibly win a Super Bowl, most would take that over 5 million and never sniff the playoffs.
