Imagine this, we trade down to 6th with NYJ. We get Fowler or Beasley and we sign Orakpo. Our defense would be scary good as far as pass rushing goes. I would think opposing defenses would tend to give more attention to Orakpo, giving the rookie his chances to make an impact.

You expect Beasley to maintain his combine weight? To me he's another Wimbley, phenomenal athlete day-1, but will lose the weight and become a non factor vs NFL Tackles.

That's still a better group than this year's crop. After the top two, I doubt there's another one taken until the 3rd (unless Petty or Hundley are overdrafted.

Give all of those guys you mentioned antoher year of experience playing college and some of them will be ready. Hackenburg for example, has all of the tools to be a stud QB, he just has a TERRIBLE cast around him. You also left out Cody Kessler from USC, he could be really good too.

If Mariota has a phenomenal pro day does that change anyone's mind on going defense with our pick?

I want QB or trade down. Winston is far and away my #1 choice but it looks like we aren't going to get that opportunity. I'm far less sold on Mariota but as I've stated before, I just don't think you pass on a chance at a potential franchise QB.

He's my favorite OLB now. Me and @Gut are both on the Beasley train.

The thing I like most about him is he has played 4 years in college and been productive whenever he's played. 12 sacks this year, 11 in '13 (if I remember correctly). I love his speed off the edge and his motor. Give me his production all day, even being a little bit under weight as opposed to Fowler and his 5 sacks during the regular season (only 3.5 in '13) and blowing up in his bowl game when he knows scouts are watching. That to me is a bigger red flag.

Beasley to me is Von Miller. I think they can play a similar role and are similarly built.

I only included the guys with a first round grade according to Walter Football.

He's a good football player, no doubt there, but when he shrinks to 230 whats his role? You dont ask a 230lb guy to bang with 310lb Tackles, they can't hold up.

heard the titans are very interested in mariota and that seems to be true with everybody going to watch his pro day, then a private workout being scheduled. I hope its a smoke screen because I DO NOT want him as our starting qb.

I still hold out hope that this is a smoke screen. It is hard to get leverage on folks wanting Mariota if you do not look that interested in him. Sending all of the decision makers out to watch him and schedule a private workout is absolutely the right thing to do IMO....whether we draft him or shop the spot.

As mentioned above, I really hope that we are shopping the spot though.
