Derrick Morgan, Signed Sealed Delivered

This is a good start to the weekend.

 

I rag on Webster but I like the Morgan signing and also the Orakpo signing.

I wonder if this pretty much locks the Titans into taking Williams at No. 2.

I hope so too, but geez I swear I see this type of post about Morgan EVERY YEAR.

But then again, maybe this year will be the year that he breaks through and looks like a top tier draft pick. I hope so anyway.

Do folks think he can become a really good OLB? I saw him trying last year, and he looked ok, but he struggled a bit with pass D at times. Maybe the year of experience helps him progress though...apparently someone more experienced than me thinks so anyway...

 

When did Morgan have the opportunity to rush the passer? He dropped into coverage this year taking away some. But when our team is playing from behind and getting dinked and dunked on, it's kinda hard to become a double digit sack guy.

Once we start winning games and having mutiple score leads I think will see improvment. Pass plays will be more often, and take longer for teams to make the big play. Morgan will get his shot to just rush.

Why do people think Ayers did so well in NE? They play with a lead and let Ayers go after the Quarterback.

 

Hope you are right.....I really do look forward to seeing him fulfill his potential....finally. It has been a few years since we drafted him.

 

Morgan is only 26 years old, BTW (Jan 6. is his birthday). He's still very young and has time to get better.

 

Btw Ayers is signing with St. Louis. He might have success there to with that nasty D-line.

 

Again, hope you are right. I really do think that he was working hard last season to play the new position, and, with any new experience, bumps will come. As I mentioned earlier, apparently someone more knowledgeable than me thinks he can anyway.
