The Saints aren't throwing away another few years of going for the SB to start a full rebuild. They are upgrading the roster while cutting cap, getting younger and getting more picks. I think if Mariota falls past the Jets you will see intrigue around the 10th pick. Either the Browns move up ahead of the Rams to take MM, Rams hope he falls to them or Saints could move up without killing themselves to jump ahead of Rams or Browns to grab QB of the future to learn behind Brees. personally, because Brees only has a few years left, I think they skip QB and grab a stud WR or perhaps another defensive piece. Or OL?

There is no truth to this rumor anyway. The guy in the article was just trying to connect a couple dots. Saints have already said they're not moving Brees or Cooks.

I see your point but we'll see. After seeing Rodgers, Brady Quinn, Manziel and Bridgewater all considered top QB's slip for whatever reasons anything is possible. Besides it wasn't my suggestion he could fall to 20, I read some believe he could slip. I still don't want him, give me Williams or a trade down to get picks.

Yeah, I agree that dropping down to 20 is more of a stretch THIS season for him, but that is more due to the number of teams desperate for a QB IMO. In other years I could see it happening.

And Sawdust, IMO his stock has been dropping since the college playoffs. He made some mistakes in the FSU game that got swept away due to the blowout, and then he looked pretty unimpressive against OSU. Going into that set of games he was slightly ahead of Winston from what I read....coming out there really was no question about who was ahead. The Pro Day was just another nail in that coffin.

That said, as I mentioned previously I do not really see him getting past the Jets, Browns, Rams, or other teams around the 10 spot who need a QB this year.

Let me see if I understand you. You think Winston pulled ahead of Mariota in the playoffs? Let's see...

Winston had 53 plays in which he produced 333yds of offense, completed 64% of his passes and gave his team 1 TD and 2 turnovers.

Mariota against FSU had 44 plays in which he produced 400yds of offense, completed 72% of his passes and gave his team 3 TD's and 1 turnover.

I don't see the advantage for Winston.

And while Mariota wasn't spectacular against OSU, his guys gave him a number of drops and he came back and played hurt. Even still, he still put up 372yds of offense, completed 65% of his passes, and gave his team 2 TD's. Hardly a BAD performance and still BETTER than what Winston did in defeat to Oregon. So again, not seeing how Mariota is failing in those games compared to what Winston did. And Winston freaked out on the sideline twice. Not what I want to see in an immature QB Im considering investing 3-4yrs and millions of dollars into.

To be fair, I thought both QB's did very well at the combine (throwing) and did what they needed to do. I expect Winston to look better throwing in drills as he has been throwing these routes for years while Mariota hasn't. But Mariota has his running and elusiveness and maturity you can't measure at a combine or Pro Day.

Nothing at Mariota's pro day will cause him to drop. If he drops to 20, it'll because no one wanted to change their offense for him or sit him for a year instead of getting another player who will contribute from day 1. In a QB needy league, I can't see him falling past Cleveland at #12...at worst.

I am saying that, when you listen to pretty much every analyst in addition to listening to and watching the actions of the Buccaneers, Winston has pulled ahead of Mariota, and this started happening after the playoffs. I am not saying that it is fair, I am not saying that statistical analysis supports this. I am merely saying that it is what happened.

Basically we are saying the same thing here....I am predicting that Mariota could drop to around 10 spot this season, you see him not falling past #12.

Winston has always been ahead of Mariota, as far as the football aspect. The only reason Jameis would have ever been lower was the character questions.

If you believe what Jeremiah is telling us, there are some teams (who or how many we'll never know) that like Mariota better. He mentioned one team (not by name) had Mariota ahead and not because they have lowered Winston from off the field stuff. He also mentioned this team already had a franchise QB so they had no reason to lie to him.

I think the Bucs are smart in building a staff than can succeed with EITHER of these QB's.

I will say Winston coming out and saying he won't be at the draft when right now everyone expects him to be the #1 pick will make everyone scratch their head. Does he not realize the importance of him being there? He better start making better decisions or he may not go #1 if a team doesn't trust him to be the face of the franchise off-the-field. Doesn't his agent have his ear or a pr firm?

    I'll trade #2 overall for:

Drew Brees and the Saints entire 2015 Draft which includes #13, 31, 44, 75, 78, two 5th rounders, one 6th, and one 7th.

That would give us Drew Brees and 15 draft picks. GIT R DUN!
