Who plays right tackle next season?

the tackle class is not the best because there is not much in the way of good left tackle prospects. there is however a number of good right tackle types which is what we need.

 

I get what your saying here X but I think a 1st round talent RT that slips into the second round could let the playmakers already on the team make plays....if that makes sense???

The guy I really want is TJ Clemmings, I think there are enough question marks on him that could drop him to the second round. Lewan and Clemmings would be book ends for the next 5-8 years.

33 is a great spot we for sure get a player that we have a first round grade on. Scratch CB off the list. If we take L.Williams at 2 like we should, that leaves RT and WR as the only real needs with RT the only real hole on offense.

I would love to have another vet WR or RB in Free agency to further let us take BPA at 33.

I think we're going to pick a RT at 33. Collins, Clemmings, Flowers, Fisher or Humphries - One will be good at 33.

 

Agree this tackle class is not the best, especially as far as LTs go, but I think there are some solid RT prospects.

 

If cheap enough, we should sign Wisnewski to compete at OC (or be a good interior backup) and Barksdale to man RT (for now). That gives us flexibility in the draft as we have 5 starters though I'd still be looking to upgrade LG and RT and already have competition for at least OC if not LG too. For this reason I'd really like to get Erving in the draft as he can play any of the OL spots and upgrade whatever is weakest and we still can get the best OC/OG/OT later to compete or develop. At worst, our OL would be Lewan, Levitre or Wisniewksi, Schwenke or Wisniewski, Warmack, and Barksdale.

Of course, Erving would have to be taken at #33 I believe and may not last that long. If not, then I'd probably look at the mid rnds for at least 1 OL if not 2.

 

Wisniewski is better then Schwenkie so if you were to bring him in ot would to be your day one starter at OC. I would love ti see him here and let Schwenkie fight LeVitre for the LG position next season with the loser taking a bench spot.

Then we could draft a OT at 33 (Collins would be my hope) and have a great, young OL group to build arounx in Lewan-Schwenkie-Wisniewski-Warmack-Collins

 

Wisniewski won't be cheap; nor will he be a backup. As I wrote in another thread, SEA will overpay for him if need be, after trading Unger to NO. They will have to outbid TB, CHI, and STL, who are all in the mix for Wisniewski's services.

Since we've already done more in FA than I was expecting and IF we trade down to the 10-20 range I'm actually fine with taking a tackle there (I never thought I'd say that). The only reason I do say that is, I saw how a horrible line can hamper you last season and if we can get a stud like Collins or Scherff I say do it.

Even if we wait until the 2nd there will be plenty of good OT's to choose from like Flowers from Miami or the kid from A&M whose name I can't spell or pronounce.
