Also, Bradford doesn't have to be traded to us. If the Browns really want him, they could trade one of their 1st round picks for him, and the Eagles could flip both of their number 1's to the Titans (plus more picks). Or maybe the Cards get involved. Or the Bears. Lots of ways this could still go down.

I would be surprised if the Eagles didn't at least try to move up for Mariotta.

Now let me guess, you are in favor of picking up Hardy, Winston, Ray Rice, Adrian Petersen, etc? :D

You guys are missing the point. Trading for Bradford isn't the problem just like drafting Mariota in general isn't a problem. The PROBLEM is what VALUE do you assign these players because you only have so much currency to spend to improve the team.

If you could get Mariota at pick #33, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it. But is he worth pick #2? By the same account, Bradford would be a nice guy to have around, but what draft pick is his value? Is he worth a 5th rnd pick or a 1st rnd pick and therein lies the PROBLEM. VALUE!!!

The Eagles spent a lot to get Bradford so IF they are gonna trade him, they will expect that team to value him similarly. I wouldn't. He was the first overall pick in the draft and 4 years in, I still don't know if he's a franchise QB, let alone an elite one. Considering he's coming off two major injuries and signed to a much higher salary than he deserves AND it runs out after this coming season, he's a huge gamble. What happens if Bradford does not play great this year? You can't franchise tag him or he'll be getting a raise and he may not take a paycut in which he becomes a free agent. So what would a one year tryout be worth? Not a lot in my book.

Despite the extra 2nd rnd pick the Eagles gave up swapping Foles for Bradford, to me Bradford is a throw in. You want value for him, I'll give you a conditional 2nd rnd pick in 2016 IF he starts more than 13 games AND has a QB rating of 90 or above for the season. Problem is, I still want a huge haul in picks OR several really good players (and a few high picks). Frankly, let the Eagles keep Bradford, there are other players I'd rather have.

    How about...

Eagles get #2 and a 6th rndr in 2015, plus OG Andy Levitre, WR Justin Hunter and a conditional 2nd pick in 2016 if Bradford starts 13 or more games and has a Qb rating of 90 or greater.

Titans get Eagles 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year, 1st and 3rd in 2016, 1st in 2017 plus DE Fletcher Cox, WR Jordan Matthews, OG Evan Mathis, and QB Sam Bradford.

I'd say that's fair. Chip Kelly would not be able to go near any fans!!!

Their is a misconception that the Eagles gave up a bunch to get Bradford and thus they wouldn't trade him....basically the Eagles move down 20 spots by trading their 4th for the Rams 5th this yr...this is not much at all. Then in 2016 the Eagles traded their 2nd rnd pick, but will receive the Rams 4th rnd pick if Bradford plays less than 50 snaps for them. So basically if the Eagles trade Bradford they will automatically get the Rams 4th.

So to me the trade was really swapping QBs and the Rams get the value of a 3rd rnd pick next yr.

Value pretty much gets thrown out the window when you are trying to find your franchise QB especially since the rookie salary cap. You can take chances with high picks and not totally screw yourself from a cap standpoint for years to come.

All I know is that the NFL radio hosts are really chatting this up. I listened to Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller discuss this while driving down to a meeting earlier today.

If nothing else at least we are being mentioned by radio show jocks now LOL....
