kind of makes you hate the NCAA. the problem is that only the real big schools make all that much off of sports, and really only the "big" sports like basketball and football. it would be hard to make a system that pays out fairly but it's clear the NCAA is exploiting the situation right now.

I saw this Sunday.. Great job by Oliver as always.
It would pretty easy to establish if a player is significantly financially benefiting a school. A scale could be implemented readily - if the fat cats were willing to play along.
But they aren't. They drink your milkshake as usual.

I've all but stopped watching college basketball all together outside of around draft time.

My interest in college football is at an all time low outside of draft and combine stuff.

The stuff coming out of the NCAA is part of the reason.

Kind of strange how he rips into schools for giving them a crap education, then later on talks about how much work the students have to put in to stay on the team due to being there to get an education.

Anyways, I don't see why the colleges can't give athletes stipends like they do with graduate teaching assistants/graduate research assistants.

They even got the clip of Stallings telling his player he was going to "kill him" as an example of ******* coaches...

    Easy fix

Allow athletes to sell there autograph.

So what a star qb makes more than some chic swimmer...this is the fairest easiest way to do things and won't cost the universities a dime.

I stopped watching after he started slamming education.

Look the NCAA isn't perfect but they're student-athletes. They get the opportunity to continue to play the sport they love at the next level while also getting an education. Now, no player should go hungry or not have a place to live. That's on the NCAA and the university. But outside of that? Maybe a small student account budget.

I love how Oliver nitpicks cases acting like every college athlete is an african american male who is starving and has one more semester to go until he can finally go pro and make millions of dollars. Let's be honest, there is a very very small percentage that actually make it pro. What does everyone else do? Oh yeah welcome to the real world. Where it's beneficial to have an education.

Also the only main argument people make are about how much the NCAA makes off ads and etc. No one is arguing over if the number 6 women's tennis player on her own team should be getting compensated.
