Don't mistake this than anything more than speculation. Rumors will abound between now and draft day.

Here's more speculation, this time by me -- Mariota won't get anyone willing to give up much to move up to get him at #2 though the Titans will show him off like a prized heifer bull over the next few weeks. He's a gifted player but the reality is he doesn't fit what Whiz wants at QB and the league knows it. He will slide on draft day and the Titans better be ready to be happy with Williams who, IMO, is the player more teams will look to go up for.

Anyone can say what they want about Rivers; the guy is damn good. He has the Chargers in the race for the playoffs almost every year. And most years he is packing most of the weight.

If you can get a player like this even at his age you make that deal. Provided Rivers is agreeable to resigning or signing an extension early. If we can trade #2 for Rivers, #17 & their 1st next year I would be in. We all know what a great QB can do for a team.

Mariotta may or may not turn out to be one. No way to know about him yet. However, we passed on Derek Carr last year & I would take Carr this year ahead of Mariotta if he was on the board.

Agreed. I think they are going to look real hard at Mariota, but he doesn't wow me. He has a boring personality, slightly above average arm, and is a system QB. He scares the hell out of me. I'll get behind him if he is a Titan, and hopefully I'm wrong.

    Uh....

    Really?

He had probably the worst first year and off season for a QB, ever.

Now Cleveland has already begun trying to move on from him.

Manziel is about as solid of a bust as you can be. If he was any more of a bust, he would be in Canton.

Manziel was a bust before even playing in the NFL. Using Manziel as an example for anything is instantly an exaggeration for someone else's draft profile.

I don't love it. Rivers is 33 years old, so he has like 2-4 years left? We're going to trade #2 (where we could draft our franchise player for the next 10+ years). Plus, Rivers could easily not resign with us next year. Pass.

I really don't get how guys like Manziel and Tebow get drafted in the 1st round. Anyone with any football knowledge knew these guys would be busts, but yet GMs (supposed experts) wasted 1st round picks on them ... Do they really get caught up in all the media hype? Are some GMs really that dumb?

I don't know about from a running the team perspective, but as far as picking players, I think a LOT of fans could out pick some GMs.

If I was a team owner, I would run an experiment, and let the fanbase pick a whole draft for me (or maybe just the 1st 3 rounds) ... see how it works out.
