Rumor Draft Rumors Ramping Up

Nobody is saying it's the smartest thing, or the right thing...That said, if you think it's not on anybody's mind from the top down, you are dead wrong. This franchise hasn't had anyone jersey worthy, or a leader behind center in a very long time. They need to fill seats, and turn it around. Teams that suck reach and grab for the lightning in a bottle/potential all of the time. I'll tell you what though, I like that we are in the drivers seat at #2. It's going to be a fun draft year!

 

Yes, teams like Oakland, Jax, and Cleveland do. That's why they are always at the bottom of the league. We have never done that and wont do that. We saw Webster make the smart move last year with Lewan stead of some flashy player. They do not care about selling jersey's, I promise. Also, stop about filling seats. That's not as big as deal to them as us. Also, again, you know what fill seats? Winning games. That is the single only thing that's on their minds or what they care about. They will pick the person that will help them win the most games this year. That is not Mariota.

 

Maybe so...but as small market as they are, who knows...could be moved eventually. If you haven't noticed, we are heading the way of those teams. I personally loved the Lewan pick, but we also digressed and went 2-14. If they really wanted to "Win games" they wouldn't have Whiz playing guys like Washington over Sankey. and putting all of their faith in a 2 time injured 6th rounder. I personally like Mett as well. Have your opinion all you want, and I agree with you to an extent, but don't be a douche bag on a forum, acting like fans have no reason to believe those things like you're all high and mighty after the losing season they just had.

 

This team isn't winning jack squat until they sustain drives, establish the run, and keep opposing defenses honest. The Titans defense was on the field FAR too much, and although I like LW, adding him isn't a game breaker when the D is worn out with no leads or help with offensive scoring.

 

I used to believe this but then realized, we weren't drafting the guys that were winning games either. The talk of needing to be relevant was premature when we drafted Young or to a certain extent Locker, but not now.

It's more than just oh I want to make SportsCenter, it's a product that you need your own players to believe in. Someone for the team to center around. We haven't had that in a while. Fans complain about not getting big free agents. Why would they? Our current QB is a meme with that head band or a famous gif after Alabama basically broke him. Our best player is a 3-4 DE and we've invested top picks and a ton of cash into an OL that has been below average.

There are many reasons why Mariota should be drafted by us and the attention/relevancy is absolutely a legitimate one at this point.

Excuse my wording...0 TD's to a Receiver for the first time since 1970. Basically, VERY short throws.

 

I think he probably means 0 TDs to WRs last year. They didn't have a WR catch one TD all season.
