    Alright well let's see...

-He's an accurate QB. He puts the ball where it needs to be.
-He has a plus arm. Not the biggest arm but you don't need a huge arm to be a successful NFL QB. Ask Manning, Brady, Brees, Wilson, well, you get the idea.
-Quick. Quick release, quick footwork and quick to make a play.
-Very athletic. Can get out of the pocket to extend plays or go on the run to pick up yards. Something I feel like that will be very valuable behind our OL.
-Very good decision making, sees the field well and absolutely knows how to read a defense. Some of his pros like these were masked in Oregon's offense.
-He's very smart, determined, team leader, hard worker, and basically every other intangible you want from your QB. There are certainly doubts on the player but no one has doubts on whether he'll put the proper work in.

So yeah Mettenberger is from a pro style offense and has a big arm but we see where that has gotten him. When it comes down to it, who can the franchise put their faith in? My pick is Mariota.

At least you have something other than "Hes a QB."

Even though I disagree with... just about everything related to his arm.

We pick him, were not going anywhere. His first year will be his best.

I'm not very high on Hundley. He will always have accuracy issues.

There is no way we go into a season with mett and cbj as the depth chart.

If bet anything that either two or 33 is a QB.

Honestly. I'd just as soon gamble on Hundley or petty as Mariota, respective cost considered.

    Dream scenario...

Trade back with Cleveland for 12, 19. And the second.

Take Cooper or white if available at 12. Gurley or Gordon at 19. RT @ 33. Hundley (or your second tier guy of choice) with Browns pick.

Is anyone saying we should draft him just "because he's a QB"?

I get you don't like him but come on. You don't know how he's going to do in the NFL and you certainly don't know what's going to be his best year lol. If so you should be seeking a job in a team FO somewhere.

"Pick a QB every year until you have one."

Youre right, I could be completely wrong. Every NFL analysts who have watched much more on him than I have, also say the same things that worry me about him.

I think his first season will be his best year because like many QB's who are most known for their legs, they run wild. The following season, his tendencies are studied more and his lanes are shut off. "Softmore slump" or whatever you want to call it.

I do not believe he will be able to develop the accuracy needed in the NFL, or they would have seen him make tight throws enough to not call it one of his negatives.

If we end up taking him, I hope he changes my mind. People talk about how bringing him would bring excitement. Honestly, I would be less excited about the Titans if they drafted him.

Ill bookmark this and come back in 3-4 years to see if I should apply for a FO position.

Not really.... ill forget about the thread the day after I stop getting alerts.

I don't see the point of drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round either. If you're not going to take a chance on a true difference maker (Mariota) then spend the picks on improving the rest of the team and take your QB next year in the 1st.

Hundley is a slightly better Locker, Petty is kinda meh and Grayson is a bit of a wild card with some nice gifts but pretty big negatives. Give me a starter at a different position instead.

If we take a QB, make it the later rounds and someone with some raw potential that Whiz can try and develop. Maybe Brandon Bridge.
