A draft tactic, or could he be for real?

thing I find interesting while looking at Mariota's throw chart, notice you can see a clear space where he doesn't throw a.k.a the pocket, if I didn't know better Id think based off the chart he's a pocket QB.

 

Do many "non-pocket" QBs throw many passes back into the "pocket"? ... Don't think I've ever really seen that

 

though the article does point out that Mariota throws more 11-20 yard passes (NFL passes) than Winston ... he also completes a higher % of them as well.

Square peg, round hole.....this dude needs Chip Kelly so much more than Chip needs him. If I'm MM, I'm bombing all of my interviews praying that I fall to the Eagles at 20, thats the ONLY way he's gonna have any sort of career in the NFL.

 

Why would I not like that chart @JCBRAVE...I bet almost half of those dots are 5 yards or shorter. Notice after 5 yards its basically a 1:1 ratio of red to blue. And if you watch his film 95% of the passes past five yards are to a received who has a 7 yard radius of no defenders in the area...

 

and you take that as meaning he can't throw thru NFL windows? also, those dots gets stacked, so where you may see one dot, in some cases its 7 throws, I honestly dont know how you got to the conclusion youre at.

You act like throwing 41% of his passes less than 5-yards is a bad thing, Winston throws more short passes than Mariota, so why isn't he a bust?

 

Cuz Winston's good and mariota ain't.

So @Tennessy XO if we draft mariota and he sux does that prove us "wanna be GM's" who think mariota gonna fail are always right?

 

where does XO even stand on the QB issue? Is he Mett Life or what? His twitter is littered with Mett pictures, but I can remember him taking a stance..
