Rumor Chargers interested in Mariota?

Yup. Look at Teddy Bridgewater, was projected to go #1 around Christmas-New Years time last year... after the "gap" he fell to #32. If we could re-do the 2014 draft, I have no doubt in my mind that Houston would of took him first.

 

In the gotitans mock draft I penciled Bortles to them, so yea they absolutely take him or Bridgewater at 1 looking back

 

Bottom line for Mariota: he could be an elite NFL QB. He's got Kaepernicks body + athletic ability, with more than a good enough arm. Question is: can he adjust to a pro-style offense?

... i'd say yes. Now, you have to decide, are you willing to risk that he can develop into a star QB over taking a "safer" pick in Leonard Williams?

I think you have to. QBs run this league.

 

Schefter said something interesting today on Mike & Mike. Basically after talking to a lot of executives, more and more are starting to believe Rivers would be moved. He did the whole connect the dots thing with Rivers may not be signing an extension, Chargers working out Mariota and more teams in the top 10 are willing to move.

 

Or maybe we trade down to 5 with RG3 being part of the deal?

I wouldn't mind RG3 if he's fully healthy

 

Please no Rg3....High ceiling, but dude is never going to be the same after D.C. washing him out....That's the last thing this team needs is a "What if?" with bad mechanics. On the flip side, I guess Mett/Mariota aren't much better in that sense.

 

I don't think RG3's been 100% since his rookie season.

 

What mechanic issues do you see? All that's wrong is he nurses his bad knee and doesn't plant his feet, he didn't do that in 2012 when healthy
