No one is trading for Manziel, hes not an nfl QB

Maybe Dallas signs him if he's released, but I just can't see a team trading away assets for a bum QB

I don't see how ANYONE can claim he is not an NFL QB, yet. Good grief, man. The guy only got to play in about 2-3 games. Everybody started hating on him after a rough game against the Bengals, but the same haters conveniently forget that Peyton Manning also had a very rough day against that Bengal defense the week before.

I just think everyone is having a kneejerk reaction with him and checking himself into a rehab clinic (alcohol?) made matters worse. It's because everyone is undervaluing him now that I think we could get him thrown in, basically for free, in such a trade. Even if we did go that route, I'd still try to draft Hundley or Petty later on, and let them take their time adjusting to the league, while Mettenberger and Manziel compete for the starting job

Thats a great point. I wouldnt do it for a one year rental either, but if he was to agree to sign with us for a few years I would probably do it.

I'm starting to think we should take mariota anyways. There are some teams out there that really want him. I still believe chip Kelly would give his left nut to get him. He's not fooling anybody.

If we select him and act like we're good with moving forward with him then his value only goes up and that's when teams will really start offering up assets. and it's not like we made a bad decision even if we don't get a trade we like.

No to Manziel.....He is absolutely terrible. I mean, he looked lost out there. Rivers would instantly improve our team, but he is old. We need to rebuild the right way.

It's pretty easy actually, most (including me) claimed he wasn't an NFL QB before being drafted.

I would prefer to take Mariota, as well. Think about this....Rivers would suck up all the oxygen in the room, in terms of cap room, and we'd be overpaying this guy with no way of knowing if his game is on the decline, as many QB's tend to when they get into their mid-30's. Hello, Kerry Collins, Neil O'donnell. Chris Chandler, etc. We would be handcuffed next year in the free agent market because of Rivers big-arse cap number. No thanks.

I really think Mariota is our version of Andrew Luck/Russell Wilson.

I think we need to redo this poll ... I feel like several posters would change their vote at this point.

I know I had originally voted for either trade or LW ... but the more I think and look at it, the more I am going in on Mariota.

Actually I am starting to get excited about the prospect of picking Mariota #2, and I was completely against once the season ended.

Yeah, if we take mariota it just gives us more leverage in a trade. That or a potential franchise qb who has more talent than any qb we've had in a long time.

I remember watching this game, a few years ago, when Mariota was just a Redshirt Freshman, and thinking...."damn, if he's this good as a freshman, I can only imagine how good he'll be as a Senior."
