Trading is fine and dandy and we need players for sure, but if the franchise QB is there and you have the chance to take him. That trumps all other positions. Just saying. Plus the rookie salary cap makes them restively cheap.

I agree with that 100%. I do think Hundley and Petty could also develop into franchise-level QB's at some point or the other. But I would hope that a team like the Redskins or Raiders would trade up to get Williams, so we can get both Mariota and some extra picks. Most people are assuming teams wanting to trade would want Mariota, but not necessarily. I think as long as it's before the Jets, we could still get him

But if the player you want is there you might better take him. Washington not happy with RG3 either.

Was reading an article last night saying multiple GMs believe the Titans will trade #2... I think it was on ESPN. I was using my phone so I can't remember exactly who it was, i'll see if I can find it.

I think you're talking about the Paul K article. He mentioned that numerous GMs believe Mariota will be taken at #2 by either the Titans or someone else. Another GM said he thinks a trade is imminent or something like that.

I just don't like any of the qbs available later much either...

    Hundley... No thanks.

Petty might be good... In three years.

Basically, they are less talented, less accomplished mariota IMHO.

Someone show me a promising pocket passer available in later rounds and I'm on board with a trade.

    There really isn't anyone.

Outside of the top 2 guys...

Hundley- poor man's Mariota basically. All the same flaws and then some. Did have a better year last season but would still be very scared to take him.

Petty- truly benefited from the system. Can't make all the throws. Deep ball is derp.

Grayson- wasn't asked to do much at CSU. Has some upside but a lot of little flaws that won't work out at the next level. Needs a lot of coaching up.

After that...meh. Mannion is a big guy but pocket presence is horrible, Bridge can throw so hard he can bruise Superman but the ball will probably go 15 yards to the left, and Carden is smart but lacks in basically everything else.
