But he's in on it and if Webster is considering taking Mariota then you know he is having long conversations with Whiz over him.

Totally on board for pursuing Rivers. I doubt we can trade out at 2- would love it, but do not see it happening, and if someone did trade out with us, I don't think it would be for Mariota...

Mariota will be the #2 pick, IMO. Just not sure to what team...

That certainly is a good question, I dont know why another team would trade up. But, they will. If there was a Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck and you think you could land one of them with the number 2, sure keep it. Mariota is no sure thing though. None of the top picks are, so trade it to someone willing to take the risk (and they are out there) and pick up multiple players with much less risk.

I agree with you. I prefer not the "if" part, replace it with when we do pass on Mariota and trade down, I would go hard after their 2015 1st and 2nd, and 2016 1st. Stack the deck for next season to draft a qb. I am big on OLB Dupree, 6-5 260lbs and ran a 4.55 at the combine. He is predicted to go to Steelers in the 20s. We use the 2015 trade 1st to snatch up Dupree. From there use our picks for best available players since we have so many holes to fill. Not as many holes now that we have Cox filling one.

In no way am I saying I believe Marcus Mariota is a sure thing (far from it) but I find it kind of crazy that so many of you guys are vehemently opposed to drafting him. It's never been more clear that having an elite QB is the best way to win in the NFL and the Titans have whiffed badly on two shots at drafting one (Young, Locker). Getting a top QB is the one thing that could instantly turn this franchise around.

In no way should the Titans allow those previous draft misses to influence their decision on Mariota. Those are sunk costs and it's a huge mistake not to put on historical blinders and make decisions on the future in a vacuum.

How often do you get the chance to draft a potential franchise QB at the top of the draft? I find myself wondering if it's a risk the Titans have no choice but to take.
