Ahhh! I've been going back and forth with all the scenarios. I just want the draft to be here now...

What about the fact that WR and OLB are Wayyyyyyy deeper than DE in this draft? I'll agree that olb and wr are still big needs, but in no way would I say they are any greater needs than DE.

As We All Know, lebeau turns every linebacker he gets into a stud. He may turn massoqui into something and who knows, he could even light a fire under wimbley. And plus, if orakpo does stay healthy, are we ok with sitting a top draft pick because morgan and orakpo aren't losing their spot to a rookie.

I 100% agree with you... I'd love LW at #2. I'm more of arguing if we trade back, if we'd still go DE early.

No, that is the best case scenario.

The worst case scenario is that we end up with zero good QB.

    There's only about seven 3-4 DE's I actually like.

I still think QB/WR are highly likely right now......WR gives Mett his true #1 or QB gives you your new starter and adds depth. I'm not saying this is my dream scenario, but it's coming guys....

When we draft an OT, I hope it's either Ereck Flowers, Jake Fisher, Cedric Ogbuehi, Daryl Williams or Donovan Smith. I'd like to avoid Andrus Peat, DJ Humphries and TJ Clemmings; I'm not as high on those 3 as most scouts.

I also love Brandon Scherff & La'El Collins, but those guys won't last til 33.

I ain't watching another trainwreck this season, if they decided to pass on a franchise level QB, in the 1st Rd, yet again. We can see where it got us last season. Rather watch paint dry or the grass grow, than see 4trs of 3-and-outs generated by Mettenberger, the Ben Stiller wannabe.

Guys, VY and Locker both played well. VY just burned his bridge with Fisher (immaturity). Locker just could not stay healthy. They weren't busts in terms of ability or talent. Neither of those things could a team see coming. So, just because they didn't pan out in the long run, it shouldn't disuade the team from trying again. When was the last time this franchise every won ANYTHING with a 6th Rd QB?

Yep...got to go with Mariota at No.2. Any other year, we can spend that pick at other positions or try to trade back. If Mett does develop, at least that gives us the security of having a backup who can help us get some wins. We haven't had that since Kerry Collins backed up VY in 2008.

Plus, if Mariota doesn't live up to expectations, we can always trade him to Chip Kelly and get something for him.
