I know a lot of you guys are high on Mett.. that's great. He was a great value in the 6th round.

But the idea that a coach and GM are fighting for their job, and are staking their existence on him this season, is crazy. He had decent stats in limited time.. but showed no clutch ability, as we lost every game he played. He didn't show any mobility in the pocket. He is obviously injury prone.. so we are going to need another QB, no matter what, to take up for the time he'll miss.

I would be shocked if they simply hand over the franchise to him. He hasn't proven a thing yet, and with the 6th round pick, they aren't extremely invested in him, like they would be with a real 2nd round pick (not "projected")

He has potential, but this franchise is on shaky ground. He has proven in his time thus far, that he won't elevate a loser of a team, into a winner. If he had one win, I may believe that he could.

He is worthy of A SHOT at the starting position, and deserves to be on the roster. I don't know what leads people to believe that he deserves the starting spot handed to him. Is it just because everyone else on roster is SO BAD?

I don't particularly care for Mariota.. but a huge percentage of players who DO come from pro-like systems in college still fail. That is not a sure sign of success by any means. Every QB is a crapshoot. Even Luck, the closest thing to a "sure thing," isn't quite Tom Brady. He doesn't dominate.. he generally squeaks by in the playoffs, or gets run over by the great teams.

There is no sure thing, but IMO, they have to have another plan in case your 6th round pick ends up looking like a 6th round pick.

I was looking for Preds playoff tickets on craigslist today, and people are selling their PSLs like I've never seen before.

The current trajectory of everything in the franchise is plummeting.. They have to DO SOMETHING.

Probably not, but guess what...He wasn't. If all 32 teams are willing to pass on you 5 times and some 6 times each that certainly tells me something when that is the most important position on the field.

NFL hasn't changed since 2001? Is it still a run first league? Is that why running backs still always go top 10? Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson or Jeff Hostetler won the superbowl in the last 3 months? I'm not slamming Mett, I just don't think he can be a Tom Brady. I know that the stats say that 6th round QB's have a better win percentage in both regular season and in playoffs than first rounders, but I think that we should go QB if Winston is there, if not we should trade back.

Tyler Bray was 2nd Rd talent....that went undrafted. Mike Mayock said he had a cannon strapped to his torso, and threw a beautiful deep ball, but because of maturity concerns, not unlike Mettenberger, he fell out of the draft, period....which Mettenberger was about 15 minutes away from joining the same UDFR ranks. He just ain't that good, hypocrite. Rip VY for his maturity problems, but give Mettenberger a free pass.

So I guess that the 2014 Seahawks are much more focused on the pass than the 1999 Rams or 1981 49ers, right? Get real... How about the Patriots? Are they more pass happy now than when they won back in 2001? I think not. That argument is pure bunk IMO, especially if you are narrowing it down to the last 10-15 years.

Look, I am not saying that Mett develops into anything special, I just get tired of seeing all of the miguided hate based on six games with one good leg and that absolute joke of a team we had last year.

    No it's not
I don't and not because I like Mariota. Because we were snake bit with QB injuries last year and just giving 2015 to a 6th Rd pick, with all those injuries...including Jakes' inability to stay on the field 3yrs running...is all the reason the new CEO will need to fire both Webster and Whisenhunt.

Obviously, they haven't learned their lesson, is what he'll say. We need a QB who is capable of not only competing for the job, but capable of winning games WHEN Mettenberger tears his shoulder up again.

I am hoping to trade down. But the problem is not Mett, but the fact clipboard is our 2 qb. That is not acceptable
