First problem is these vids are short and since Mett is immobile you only see him throwing and since Mariota makes a lot of big plays with his legs, we see a lot of that.

The concerns about Mett is that he had the best WR corps in all of college with OB and JL and those guys came out of double and triple coverage with the ball. I'd be concerned some of those contested throws would turn into picks (and did this year with Hunter instead of OB). I also notice most of his throws he has a very clean pocket. He has a great arm though both in strength and accuracy. However, he's super slow and that would also concern me....especially since he came off an ACL.

Mariotta is very impressive on highlight reels because he is one...in that offense. The questions with him are how would he look in a more traditional style of offense with less running. I like that when he's pressured he easily escapes the pocket and either throws the ball downfield, scrambles for TD's, or buys time to hit a wide open WR.

Of course the REAL issue is you never judge a QB based on highlight films as they show the best...which has less to do with what they need to be able to do in the NFL and what flaws they have. Otherwise, what would we need scouts for?

But coming off the ACL, is a reason to give him the benefit of the doubt is it not? He tore is ACL in the last regular season game I believe, so he came back and was on the field pretty quickly after that. He is certainly a pure pocket passer by all means, but I do think year in his first year the ACL was still at least somewhat of a hamper, where as now it shouldnt be.

So if 6 games isn't a big enough sample size to go on for Mett...what if we draft Mariota and he stinks it up the first six?

Do you guys honestly think mariota is the answer? That him alone is better than having mett and williams? If so you all are retarded. Throw russell wilson on this team and were just as bad

Though much of what you say is true, having to play from behind against teams in a soft zone protecting a big lead is also the reason Volek and Mett racked up big stats. If I remember correctly, Volek held the single-game passing record or some such. That's Billy "Friggin'" Volek.

Stats don't always mean much. I throw most individual stats out the window when it comes to 2-14 teams. Trust your eyes in watching Mett. He clearly has a monster arm and will stand in the pocket under pressure. What he didn't do very well is get the ball away at times or make the best reads.

IMO, that's nothing different than every other rookie QB who comes into the league whether taken in the first round or much later. The difference is whether or not Whiz thinks he can begin moving beyond those mistakes.

Let's assume Mett begins to get the ball out faster and minimizes his mistakes. What's his ceiling? We know he'll never be a threat running. Do we think he can become a Flacco?

Flacco has won the big game. He has taken the offense on his shoulders. But he also looks awful at times. He had a 73 passer rating in '13 but nearly 4,000 yards passing as the Ravens finished 8-8. But, if you look at his full career, I'd be thrilled if any Titans QB gave us what Flacco has the Ravens over his career ranking most seasons between 12th and 15th in the league in passer rating.

What is Mariota's upside? We know less about that. We do know he doesn't fit Whiz's system in any way which is why I think the Titans trade out or take Williams.

Yeah, cause getting our "Franchise QB" at the A$$-End of the draft is a sure path to success. You got to be a special kind of idiot to believe a guy no other team in the league wanted and whom was 15min away from going undrafted is so much better than a guy who won the Heisman trophy and most NFL analysts project to go No.2, if not No.1. GTFOH with that noise.

I've been saying this elsewhere, for a while, now. Mariota guarantees them another 2-3yrs, while relying on Mettenberger who has been injured twice is just asking to get fired when the.....
