I'd be happy taking Cooper. Cooper is the number one WR this team needs. That would give Mett Cooper/Hunter/Douglas Wright a pretty good WR corp.

You made some good points. I agree with you on Flacco i'd be happy if we got a Titans QB that gave us what Flacco has done for Baltimore over the years. Ironically i've heard Flacco and Carson Palmer mentioned often as a comparison to Mett.

Yeah it scares me that Whiz might draft Mariota because those are almost like opposites it just doesn't seem like they fit together. Whiz wouldn't want Mariota using his legs and we already saw Locker get in Whiz's bad graces last year against Cleveland using is mobility.

Yeah, we have a tough decision upon us, folks.

Part of me wants Mariota and part of me wants to keep Mett on deck.

God, I wish Mett was more mobile. I've just always been that type of guy that wants a QB that can run for that 4 yards on 3rd and 3 when nobody is open.

I will be a fan of which ever way we go.

What about Tom Brady a 6th round pick. Russell Wilson was a 3rd round pick. Tony Romo was undrafted. Marc Bulger was a 6th round pick. Kurt Warner was undrafted. All these QB's have been to Super Bowls and only Romo hasn't but he has been to the postseason. On the same token you have first round picks lately like Tim Tebow,Johnny Manziel,EJ Manuel, etc. who have all busted. As far as someone going Number 1 or 2 Blake Bortles didn't do too hot last year did he,RGIII also didn't either.

    Just because the guy won a Heisman or goes 1 or 2 doesn't mean anything either just ask Andrew Ware,Ty Detmer,Gino Toretta,Charlie Ward,Danny Weurffel,Chris Weinke,Eric Crouch,Matt Leinart,Troy Smith,Tim Tebow,Johnny Manziel,RGIII,Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota.......

Yeah there has been QB's undrafted and QB's drafted near the end of the draft beat out Heisman guys that were drafted first or second overall.

Oh and Mariota isn't a sure thing just look at that little list of QB's he is among that won Heisman. Remember Manziel and RGIII???

    @TitanUp

If a qbs best asset isnt throwing the ball...why is he a franchise qb?????? You said these highlights show what a player does beat right...

I hear people say Aaron Rodgers came from a gimmick offense and make he comparisons to him with mariota...

Tell me why this whole highlight Clip shows Rodgers dropping back setting up and throwing things mariota is never seen doing...

i'm really back and fourth on this pick but although i like Mett, Mariota seems to have more of a "winner" attitude as a leader in my opinion. Mett is kinda zany and has heart but Mariota seems like a "good guy" quiet storm type dude that'll study his butt off and good fortune may follow him. This is just my gut, I'm confused as f**ck about this pick. Trading back takes the pressure off the situation.

Just because there HAS been a QB picked in a late round or undrafted beaten out a Heisman Trophy winner doesn't mean we should look for QB's in the 6th rnd or later.

You want to give me the chances of a Qb picked in the 6th rnd or undrafted becoming a top 15 QB vs a QB picked in rnd 1 becoming a top 15 QB in the NFL? And another thing you should pay attention too. Most late round or undrafted QB's don't start as rookies. Even Aaron Rodgers REALLY benefited from falling in the draft and learning behind Favre for a few years. He was nowhere near the QB he is today. Brady was not near the QB he is now to when he was drafted in rnd 6.

They develop. Mett didn't really have that opportunity to sit for a year and develop. While he got some playing experience, he also got pummeled and knocked out twice and hurt his shoulder...never a good thing.

And players winning the Heisman don't make them good NFL prospects either. You evaluate players based on what they are, what they have done, and what you think they CAN do/become. The other reality is, is our OL better than it was last year? We were so bad last year all 3 of our QB's were knocked out of games due to injury and Mett was knocked out twice. That's a BAD recipe for developing an immobile stand in the pocket QB!

Is Cam Newton a franchise QB? Didn't he come from the same system? That is the comparison you should be making (except it counters your point). What was his greatest asset coming out?

QB's come in all shapes and sizes. What was Cam Newton's greatest asset coming out? Colin Kap or Russell Wilson's greatest assets coming out? Mobility. Have they all shown the ability and been top 10 QB's in this league? YES.

Giving me a 2min vid of Aaron Rodgers is a silly detour. First, Rodgers was never the runner Mariota or Newton were. Rodgers offense was mostly a passing offense though you are incorrect...Rodgers in your vid does run 1 option play...not very well. If Rodgers was ripping off 50yd runs with his legs...you think they would show that in a highlight reel? You think they would have had him run more in college if he could do that? Of course...but he didn't. Rodgers ran a 4.71 40 at the combine - LB fast. Athletic but not overly so. Cam ran like a 4.59 and was much bigger. Think Mariota ran a 4.52 at 6'4 and 222lbs. That's Dez Bryant fast while being taller.

But the real problem in making this kind of comparison is that Rodgers was not nearly the QB he is now as the guy who fell in the draft. He was a system QB even if that system was a passing one, had an average arm (very strong one now) and basically learned to be a dominant QB in McCarthy's QB camps in the off-season. So this comparison doesn't work. Mariota's system is a run first system in that the offense is based on pounding the ball with the RB and running counters/options and spreading and stretching you in every which way and getting playmakers in space.

Point is, are there QB's who are top 15 or top 10 QB's in this league who have come from spread offenses? YES! Have they gotten to the SB and even won them? YES! Does that guarantee Mariota will do that? Of course not. But it doesn't mean he can't be the next spread QB to come in and become a top 10 QB either. There are plenty of failuers of pro style qb's coming out just as their are of spread qb's. You just have to pick the right one and put him in a position to succeed!!!
