Mariota vs. Leonard Williams vs. Trade

Winston #1 isn't a lock.

Likely yea but they could still go Mariota.

TB came up to Tennessee and hired away OC Mike Bajakian to be their QB coach.

He ran a spread system that required a mobile QB the be effective.

He just worked with Mariota in TB during his visit and they are raving about him.

Dirk Koetter is their OC and he is trash. Not sure what they are expecting there.

 

Knowing the titans we will take mariota and throw him in there behind an average line, with no run game and a lack of receiving talent. We will win 4 games, dude will take a beating scrambling around and will lose all confidence. Well get a new coach and GM and by that time learning a whole new offense the dude will become alex smith 2.0

 

I would hope he doesn't use alot of his plays that consist the QB to run with the ball. Whichever the QB is will not finish the 16 game season without an injury.

 

RGIII trade netted the Rams 3 1st and a 2nd just to move up 4 spots.

What do you think the asking price is going to be to move back any farther than that. I would be shocked if we can find someone stupid enough to mortgage their future on #2.

Most realistic is Raiders jumping Jags for Williams.

I don't see value at #2 for a DE in a 3-4 defense. We could go Mariota at #2, but I wouldn't be suprised to see edge-rusher/receiver at 2.

 

Raiders run a 4-3 defense, 4-3 DT's are more valued than 3-4 DE's. In Oakland Williams isn't as much a reach as in other places, especially considering how bad their D-line is. I hope they want our pick and let us get Mariota at 4.

 

Only thing is if you want mariota and trade to 4, someone could deal with jags and move ahead of you. If want someone better pick them.

 

I saw a report about Mariotas private workout with TB... Bucs brass really seemed to love him. We'll see what they say after Jameis has their private workout with Tampa.

Right now, i'd say i'm 80% sure that Jameis goes #1.

 

If they want mariota they take him at 2. Simple as that. No way they entertain trades if they want him at all.

 

Pretty sure Tampa had him in weeks ago
