We should be picking up a WR in round 2+, not round 1.

Yup. Now, if we sign Barksdale (who's visiting tomorrow) we can even go BPA at #33.

A second option if we trade out to the Jets would be
#6: Danny Shelton -- A legit NT for Dick LeBeau's defense and IMO the best defender in the draft that isn't Beasley.
    #33: Dorial Green-Beckham -- A true #1 target for Mettenberger and insurance for Hunter/Wright.
#37: Eli Harold -- A developemental prospect to play behind Orakpo and Morgan.
#66: Jay Ajayi -- A solid between the tackles HB that really reminds me of Marshawn Lynch.

I really don't see the Browns giving up both 1st rnders this yr, their 2nd and their 1st next yr.

If we trade with the Browns I am most interested in getting their 1st rnder next yr. I would be happy getting #12, the 2nd this yr and their 1st next year.

Give me 3 top 40 picks this yr when the draft is deep at positions of need for us and then extra ammo to trade for a QB if we need next draft.

I do think that the Browns are still the most likely team to try and make a move up to #2. They have the ammo and the QB coach certainly knows Mariota since he trained him after the season and knows what sort of work ethic and quality guy he is compared to Manziel.

I don't see DGB or Harold being available at #33 or #37... but that would be an amazing draft.

There is no doubt in my mind that Beckham will be available at 33 due to the spotlight people are putting on domestic violence and just the insane depth at WR this season. There are just too many options at WR in the first to take a guy that might get himself suspend the first time he has any kind of issue.

Harold at 37 might be a bit of a pipe dream but I don't necessarily think it's completely unrealistic to hope a late first round guy is available at #37.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. And also, that the Titans will trade #2 with the Jets/Washington for #5/6, #37/38, and a 2016 first, Oakland picks White at #4, and the Titans get Cooper at #5/6.

It just makes too much sense to me.

I'm not sold on Mariota, especially considering what could be done this year with some extra picks.

While Williams will no doubt be a special player, it's been discussed that DE's aren't as valuable in a 3-4 defense. Also, I believe that offense was a way bigger problem for us than defense last year. I seem to remember a lot of game threads where people were complementing the defense on how fired up they were at the start of the game, only for the defense to be gassed by the end of the half after the offense went 3-and-out for most of their drives.

The Titans also have nothing resembling a #1 receiver. KW may be a decent #2, all indications are that Hunter is a bust, and we lost Washington on top of that. Who exactly will *any* QB we get have to throw to? Add to that that outside of getting a QB, a #1 WR very well may be the hardest position to fill in today's NFL. Using a high draft pick to fill this position is well worth it, IMO. Not to mention if we do a trade like this, we also get at least a high 2nd round pick and a second 1st for next year.

The Titans *could* try to get more (and should try), like a 3rd this year or another 2nd next year, but the team should not miss out on a trade like this if they cannot. This should not be compared to the RG3 trade too much, IMO. That year, you had at least two teams willing to trade the farm for him (Cleveland/Washington). I also believe he was regarded as a much better prospect than Mariota. Teams have also seen the result of that trade, and I think most would be hesitant to give quite as much of a haul (with the exception of a big drop in position, like #2 to #20, which means you miss out on the elite talent).

There's also a ton of good options with 33 and 37. RB, RT, fallen prospect (Gregory if he falls that far), defensive BPA, etc. Heck, I could even see getting another WR or a TE if a good prospect fell (you can never give a young quarterback too many targets, see the Colts 2012 draft, for example).

I think everyone needs to get ready to accept one of two options. #1 we draft Mariota because Wiz is not going into this season with a 6th rounder as his starting QB without competition. A middle rd QB does not offer competition to Mett and Wiz will not get a pass if he bypasses Mariota (especially if he shines) to draft a defensive player.

#2 and I will preface this before the hate comes that I am not a fan but we will trade with Chicago. The trade will be #7, #39, and possibly #71, and 2016 first. Jay Cutler will also be included and Chicago will include a minimal of $10 million toward his salary. This will get Mariota to Chicago and get them away from his contract and get Wiz a veteran QB that can compete with Mett at a reasonable salary for a 2 year trial. After those 2 years he can either be kept at his current contract or be released with no cap hit.

So the trade would be Cutler, #7, #39, maybe #71, and 2016 1st for Mariota. This still gives us a top 1o pick and gives us now 2 high seconds, and possibly 2 high thirds along with possibly a high to mid round pick in 2016 with our 2016 pick.

Now we can in turn trade #7 to Miami who is looking to get in the top 10 to get Cooper or White and pick up either an extra 2015 2nd and 3rd or a 2015 3rd and 2016 1st. We may have to give up the Patriots 6th we got to get that extra 3rd. That would give us #14, #33, #39, #47 through the first 2 rds along with a QB to challenge Mett and a 2016 first from Chicago who is still likely to suck.

From this 2 things are likely. Either Cutler stays true to form and gets Wiz fired, which is what a lot of fans want, or Wiz turns Cutler around like he did for Rivers and TN can put a winning team on the field, which is what all Titans fans want.

I would be okay with the Chicago deal like you mentioned but I would stay put and take Cooper or White for ourselves.

I would be fine with #2 for #7,#39, Cutler, cash and 2016 1st. That would be great.
