no one ever said it was a good decision...but he was a rookie and he bounced back against a top 15 defense. if all you take away from that game is one play, then i dunno i guess we evaluate differently.

I am pretty sure that pick 6 was Hunter's fault. Ball wasn't placed perfectly, but Hunter can't run a route for sh*t and slipped like a clown.

Well, I believe your first error was getting sucked into an argument with 520. Lol.
Football is a game bruh. Shlt does happen. I seem to remember a very important game in which Eddie George just handed to ball to ray "knife ur mama" lewis and lost us the game. And he had a great line. Yet, Eddie is still considered a God here. Hey, he should be cuz shlt happens.

arent two of the least important things when judging a rookie his win loss record and interceptions....as in longterm success.

im prettty sure theres a list of 5 things not to get caught up in when evaluating rookie qbs and projecting future success, and winning and ints are the top two things to not go by, yet here everyone is harping on his int in a game he did very well in besides that first play and him not winning a game.

vy had more wins as a rookie than peyton manning, who also threw a crazy amount of ints.
that tells you all you need to know

Mett has potential, and is at least a better prospect than Locker ever was.

Whether or not he'll ever realize that potential is anybody's guess. I wouldn't be against letting him have a go at it this year and re-evaluate the position next offseason with the following views:
If Mett succeeds... yay! We have a QB.

If Mett does OK but is still rough around the edges... throw money at Rivers as a free agent and let Mett learn from him.

If Mett fails completely... use our shiny new draft pick on a shiny new QB of the future and maybe still throw money at Rivers as a free agent and let the rookie learn from him.

At this point, I think I would be okay with either QB (MM/JW) at #2 or sticking with Mett. However, I think I am against taking LW at #2 at this point.

If the FO thinks that MM or JW is the guy, then you have to take him at #2. IF neither are the guy, then we MUST get help for Mett. LW is a great player, but the D's biggest problem is the O. I don't care if our line consisted of JJ Watt, LW and Casey ... if the O goes 3 and out 75% of the drives, then the D will get gassed and exposed.

The best thing to help out our D is to make the O better. Trade back would be the best option if we don't take QB, but if no trade works out, then I think we must take a WR at #2.
