2015 GoTitans GM Mock Draft

I can get a good CB in rnd 2 or 3. I can't get a good OLBing pass rusher anywhere else. But CB was gonna be the pick for about an hour while I was at dinner, then I changed my mind when I looked over the depth at the positions again and the Steelers depth chart again. I really wanted to take Scherff but couldn't really justify it.

There D is based on their LB corp and especially OLB which they are weak at and old. CB is not as important a position for them because they do play a lot of ZONE blitzes vs the pass. For that, you need pass rushers

And I don't think the Steelers would take Peters with his issues unless he was head and shoulders a higher graded player...but I don't see that.

 

I disagree with you, I really like Eli Harold to PIT. The Steelers need an athletic pass rusher to transform that defense. CB is def a big need however.

 

Yea, but him sliding this far was already a joke. You had to take him.

 

For me, in this scenario, it would've been between Scherff and Collins for the Steelers, but I can definitely see them going Harold, depending on who's available (both Scherff and Collins would likely be gone in the real thing).

 

I just think Eli is a early second rd pick. That might be biased because i've been saying I want Eli at 33.

He is explosive off the line but he gets pushed around a lot. He is not that good of a sack master. lacks the lower body. But his potential is really high. I wouldn't be surprised if they get him that high, at the same time I think he makes it to the 2nd round

 

Well I took Collins there, mostly because he was too good to pass up, not to mention all the OLB group was absolutely decimated.

They need an upgrade over Rashad Johnson who was pretty awful last year from what I recall.

 

Johnson is the 2nd string FS behind Tyrann Mathieu. Deone Buchanon was their 1st rnd pick at SS last year and played very well. Are you sure you want them to draft another SS in rnd 1 in back to back years?

 

Yes, I do. They run a very hybrid 3-4, Mathieu plays all over the field, sometimes corner. So yeah, taking the best player at his position, at 24 even at safety was just fine with me. Not to mention he's much more of a SS than Buchanon is, Buchanon is a FS in my book, but that's just me maybe. Not to mention in that division you had better have a true SS that can bring the wood.
