Mett our guy? Possibly poor mans Tom Brady?

2.5 weeks from now we will find out just how reliable Climer's inside info is. I hope he is wrong.

 

Mettenberger has potential. I don't think many of us are even debating that. It's just a matter of "how much" potential. He showed flashes at times and looked horribly lost at others. 7 games, especially as a rookie, isn't a super reliable sample size, HOWEVER it's all we have to go on at this point.

I'm sure I could dig up several old posts if I felt like it, but this is EXACTLY the reason I wanted us to move on from that bum Locker sooner than we did (besides the fact that he sucked and couldn't stay healthy). I feared we'd throw Mettenberger in there after the season was already lost and the team had mentally checked out and physically broken down. He'd fail to impress and we'd be sitting right here in April not knowing what the hell we have with the guy. And having to decide whether or not to take a QB at 2.

Saw it coming a mile away but I'm just some idiot on a forum and of course have no business questioning the methods of the geniuses running this franchise (into the ground). But I digress.

Bottom line is we are taking a HUGE risk no matter what. If we draft Mariota, we're taking a huge risk. If we draft Winston, we're taking a huge risk. If we pass on QB and stick with Mett, we are taking a huge risk. We as fans just gotta hope the FO lucks their way into being right for once.

It was an excellent comparison. Do you truly believe that either Eddie or Zach meant for those accidents to happen? Both had terrible results and yet you feel differently about both. Shlt happens. It's what you do after that counts.

I'm betting no one in the organization uttered the words "poor man's Tom Brady". They probably wish they could drag Climer behind a bus for putting that out in the national media. It's a shame non- Titans folk don't know he is a simpleton.

 

thats how we turn into a bottom 3 franchise. i dont just mean for a year, i mean for decades.

"if you at the top of the draft you have to take a qb" is how bad teams stay bad. instead of drafting real difference makers and being patient on a qb, they take one cuz they have to, waste three years, no good free agents want to come here, we go 2-14 again, have a top pick and oh hey guess what gotta take that qb right! rinse wash repeat.
