Until now, I hadn't really dug into stats from last years rookie QBs. The common consensus is Bridgewater was the best of rookies. He, along with Bortles, and Carr are talked about as hits that could possibly be franchise qbs for their respective teams. This got me curious so I dug into stats to see how far our own rookie QB was from these "possible franchise qbs". I came to the conclusion that if you figured what Mett did in 6 starts what these other guys did in 12-16 starts, he would be right along side them and most likely better, stat wise than most of them.

So what exactly is it that makes these guys relevent when Mettenberger barely gets talked about? Or when he does it's mockingly so.

It's always the teams of these other guys "seem to have found their QB" but when its Mett, "the Titans seem high on him"

I know you can't project what would have happened if he started the same number of games as these other guys... But based on what we saw, I think its fair to say he could have kept pace and even improved as it seemed some other players improved down the stretch.

TLDR: Bottles,Bridgewater and Carr are talked about as their respective teams franchise type QB. Why doesn't Mettenberger qualify as TNs?

because hes not a first or second round pick. those teams are married to those guys.

also the injuries two years in a row is a bad thing that cant be ignored. but he has played many years before the last two without getting injured, and its totally within the realm of possibility (whether some want to admit it or not) that hell never suffer a major injury again

Last year's QB class was ass.

I'm not sold on Carr or Bortles at all. Wait and see with Bridgewater, but I was a believer of his before the draft and I think he's on the right path.

Bortles and Carr might have the goods, I doubt it, but even so they'll probably drown on those awful teams.

What was the injury last year? I can't remember to save my life. I guess I was so done with the Titans by that time, I chose to forget...haha

I didn't watch any of them play, honestly. I'm going by what I've read and stats, which doesn't mean a whole lot.

    Injured vs the Giants

Him and Locker took a beating that game, 8 sacks and some fumbles, OLINE was in shambles by that point...

The only reason I watched any games after the first 3rd of the season was to see if they would go with Mett and to see what he was about when he finally did play. Basically they threw him to the wolves behind a high school calibre oline. It wasn't pretty to watch.

Good question. Bortles was horrible, Carr showed flashes of his ability from time to time on a bad team (just like Mett) and Bridgewater was ok. However, Bortles was the biggest disaster as he was picked so high.
