I know David Johnson since he's in the Missouri Valley, he played my alma matter (Illinois St) twice this year. In one game he had like 100+ yards and 2 TDs, but also had like 30 carries. The other game he had around 20 yards on 20 carries. I never thought he'd even be in the NFL, let alone a potential 2nd-3rd rounder. He was good, but the competition was way down.

I use to really like Jaelen Strong. The more I watched him, the less I liked. I'd give him a late 2nd-early 3rd round grade, but i'm sure a team will grab him in the mid-2nd. He's a solid 6'2 217, body reminds me of Dwayne Bowe - but he has 4.4 speed and a massive 42" vert. However, he catches the ball with his chest still - which they teach you not to do in junior high. He has straight end speed, but it takes a while for him to get going, no acceleration or agility. His route running is awful. Doesn't get separation. With that being said, all that can be fixed and you can't teach size. I think he could end up being very similar to Bowe, but he's a project. Not worthy of #33, now if we traded back (picked up an extra 3rd), i'd be alright taking him mid/late-2nd.

Here's a great article on him:

I don't like Jaelen Strong at all.

I'm just getting into RBs now, and I also prefer for the Titans to draft a power back. I've watched about 8 backs so far, and I'm excited to watch Yeldon, Allen, Cobb, Davis, Williams, Jones, Brown & Robinson in the coming days.

I really like David Johnson out of Northern Iowa. Great pass catcher, good in pass pro, fast enough for the next level. 3 down back kind of guy. My only knock is he could be a TAD more aggressive/hard to tackle considering his size (6'1, 225).

If Johnson is available at 65, we should have a tough decision to make. I expect some good pass rushers such as Kikaha, Mauldin, Orchard and Edwards Jr to potentially be avail at 65.

After reviewing about 20 different backs in this class, and analyzing which fits the Titans, I still really like David Johnson, but only if we can get him in the 4th. I say this because I have 12 high grades on this RB class, and here's 2 we can get in the 5th or 6th.

My favorite sleeper back in this class is Josh Robinson out of Mississippi State. This kid will be a STEAL in the 5th or 6th. Watch him vs LSU & Kentucky, and tell me you disagree:

I also really like Karlos Williams out of FSU. I'd take him in the 5th or 6th.

I am not high on Buck Allen (avg at everything) or Matt Jones (too slow)

I like williams and think he'll fall into the 5th/6th range. Would be great value and an instant replacement for shaun "cake boy" greene. This pick of course would still make sankey our #1. I would love for gurley or gordon to fall to us in the 3rd, but don't see that happening at all and don't see us taking one until then.

Doesn't know how to be a RB. All the intangibles in the world. Not a good running back.
