Basically, he has too small of a sample size to really judge statistically. A great point the article made was if you take away that 80-yard wide open bomb to Washington against Pitt or take away some fluke int apparently, his averages dramatically change. With a flick of a wrist his strengths statistically become average or bad and vice-versa.

I always hated that argument, "If you take away something that happened then you would have a different result."
That applies to ever circumstance since the beginning of time. You can't change history, Superman already tried and Abe Lincoln still got shot and Krypton still blew up.

Without injuries, this would have been accurate.

You could literally take any pro football analyst and look up things in the past they said and make them look like a complete idiot now. Cosell just evaluates film, that's it, are his opinions always right? No, but I can see the comparison between Mett and Winston, both have great arm strength and sometimes try and put it in places they shouldn't try to. Although Winston is way more mobile inside the pocket, and really doesn't have a history of injuries like Mett.

I agree with your point. Ultimately, the point made is the sample size is too small. With a larger sample size, taking away one play will not drastically change the stat. In ZM case it does. In the end, in my eyes it's only an argument indicating the sample size is too small. However, that's a lot of words to say that. We all know the sample size is small lmao.

In any case, I personally am not sold on ZM. However, I do think he has earned a stay. I believe he has earned the opportunity to show more. This could also just be me not loving any of the QBs in this draft though. I don't believe either can put the team on their back and win. I must be a minority but that's what I'm looking for to take a QB in the top 5 picks. Dare I say this, VY actually had that knack for putting the team on his back and winning. Truth be told even though he ultimately flopped, we had some success with him (love him or hater him, you have to admit that).

All this being said, it was still an interesting read though. I enjoyed it...

Welcome to the forum, @Russell Jones.

I agree. I think Winston moves around the pocket well-enough to avoid some of the bone-jarring hits Mett took last year. Having said that, if Mett were to work on his feet so he can shed some of the potential sacks like Big Ben, I think it's all the mobility he'd need. I don't know if you can learn that sixth-sense some QBs have at moving right before they get plowed though.
