Best case scenario for us would be to trade #2 to chargers for rivers and the #17 pick, take Todd Gurley at 17 and pick up Dorial Green-Beckam at 33. This is a very realistic possibility that would improve us by at least 5 wins in a matter of 24 hours.

you are not compensating for the Wiz effect

I say with your scenario KW finds a way to go from 2W's all the way to 1

I would want Rivers and the 17th pick. For some unbiased people , that may seem steep for a QB that is borderline top 5. However, it would appear that we aren't the ones who are necessarily the pursuer in this trade. And as the team holding such a coveted draft pick, that gives us a ton of leverage. San Diego doesn't have a chance of trading Rivers for a better return. The Bucs aren't passing on Jameis unless something happens between now and the next 12 days.

That being said, if the trade was for Rivers and their 2nd round pick, I could live with that, but I wouldn't be overly excited. Still a borderline top 5 QB and. 2nd rounder for the number 2 overall pick isn't a terrible return. Anything less than that and I'm not sure how my reaction will be. For us, it's not simply a question of "Is Rivers worth the 2nd overall pick." The question we have to ask is "Is Rivers worth more than the other offers that we are likely to receive that will include at least 2 first round picks." And I say no to that.

Maybe Im just under valuing Rivers but if we were to trade with San Diego then I would need Rivers, 17th, their second and a conditional first in 2016 if we cannot sign him long term.Rivers is a short term answer at QB and we need to find a long term solution.
