Reasons To Avoid Drafting Mariota And Keep Mett

Our fans, me at least(but I'm quite sure I speak for a majority), are sick of mediocrity, 6 playoffs in what 18 years, only 7 winning season in that time, 8-8 or worse the rest of the time. We are the definition of average. Sick of it. The worst part is that on 3 times we legitimately had the best team in the NFL and have nothing to show for it. Sick and tired of it...build a winning franchise.

 

its tough, Mett doesn't seem able to stay healthy due to lack of mobility/hold ball forever syndrome and Mariota is risky for system reasons to be drafted at 2. WTF to do? We absolutely need another QB. I know I would feel good about the QB position with Rivers and Mett there but that probably ain't happening. I guess trade out is the way to go but we're still super shaky at QB. At this point I just want to see what happens but some folks act like we're in good shape with Mett. If you want to just keep Mett then our first 2/3 picks(if we trade back) need to be OLine, with no protection he may die . Our line SUCKS. I don't even care if we take Mariota . What to make of our QB situation? Would you draft someone in later rounds? seems like a waste in this year's draft. Can't wait till thursday.

 

I don't really remember last season, short term memory loss, but did Whis allow Mettenberger to audible out of plays?

 

To be fair, this will be the 17th year. And I'd say 5 of those 6 playoffs year, we were legitimately one of the best teams in the league. Really could've/should've won in 99,00,02,03,08.

Crazy what one season can do. Mariota is smashing through the door, while Mett is slowly limping out. Maybe out of the nfl completely.

Mariota could have played 16 games if there was a reason to, are you really going to take yourself down that rabbit hole acting like he's injury prone?
