I'm cool with taking a chance on mariota if a killer trade isn't on the table. But let's not fool ourselves by calling him a "once in a decade" type player. he's very comparable to rg3 and kapernick. I personally think he can be better than both of them because he has a really good head on his shoulders, but when you say "once in a decade" it makes me think of the greats like luck, manning, brady, montana, young, marino, etc. And let's not fool ourselves that he's that good or will ever be. Can he be elite with a good o coordinator who knows how to utilize him? Yes...can he turn into the next rg3 if he gets put in the wrong system or gets hurt....yes...

like I said, I'm ok with the pick, but it's not my first option.

I'm still hoping for (and predicting) that we make a move with san diego. It just makes too much sense for both sides. I believe we will get the 17th pick and rivers(with a restructured contract) for the 2nd pick.

I don't blame Mariota at all staying home. That is a good plane ride to Chicago. Also if you're hearing rumors you could possibly fall or get traded.

Be real embarrassing walking to the stage representing the team you got picked by with all smiles and joy, then 10 minutes later getting traded to another team.

If I was at home, I don't think I would even let cameras be at my house if that was a possibility of it happening.

Titans arnt smart enough to pull off a blockbuster trade to favor them I don't see that happening now

Grabbing a veteran QB like Rivers and drafting Williams seems to make more sense for coach Whiz to win now

However for what ever reason the Titans rarely do what you think they should do or make sense so with that logic / the Titans will select QB Marcus Mariota on Thursday.

I'd be for the move to grab Mariota even though I thought Williams was in the bag at 2

I agree if this was even possible, but no way this could happen.

I absolutely prefer a trade back, however I do prefer Mariota over LW. I just see Tyson Jackson 2.0 in LW and can't take a 34 DE at #2 (although we took an OG at #10).

I believe Mettenberger can be a successful starter in the NFL, but he hasn't shown me enough to pass up a potential franchise QB. How often are we in the position to get one of the premier QBs in a draft class? Recently, too often.. but hopefully that changes. The Titans know we need a "name" to sell tickets and gets media attention.

If a trade comes along, it'll likely be a "blockbuster", because that's what the Titans want to pass up on Mariota. Draft Mariota and a trade offer could still come across, at that point, look who's still available and decide on a potential trade.

Let that Rivers thing go, they'd be fools to sell off a franchise QB when they dont have someone else groomed and ready to roll. I mean who does that anyways? Look at New England and San Diego 10 years ago, they only let their QB's go after they had Brady and Rivers in the wings ready, you simply dont throw away franchise QB's in this league.

    San Diego isn't moving Rivers.

I appreciate you for knowing a good thing when you see it in Rivers, but its a pipe dream.

Sounds like the majority has either Mariota or trade back (one that we can not refuse) for #2. No particular order with picking Mariota or trading back, just generally stating.

I believe ( don't agree) that the titans are sticking with mett. With that said, the #2 pick will be a qb (probably mariota). So i think we move the pick. Hopefully with a team in the top 10 or 2 top 20 picks.
