I get what you're saying, but if the guy can't hack it then what's the point?

Locker was excellent with off field issues and I am pretty sure I still have a sour taste in my mouth after that ordeal. Mariota will probably do the same thing, except this time I will have had a sour taste in my mouth about him prior to being drafted.

Voted Huh that's ok because for me its all about the#2 and the #33. If some fools like the Jets or Browns or Rams or combinations sell the farm for Mariota , I am cool with trading back ; same with trading out of #33. Taking Mariota leaves me feeling blah. If we do then I think that's Webster and Whiz's call and frankly I don't think either will be here long enough to ensure that Mariota creates the legacy they envisage.

"Hanging ass clown" should have been one of the choices in the poll.

There will be excited fans, pissed fans, uncertain fans, etc. Thing is, no one will know if it was the right move until 2018 (if then).

After his rookie season, we all thought Young was a home run and the future looked bright. It was a shame he peaked so soon and it ended up being a pretty sad choice when it was all said and done.

Would we have been happier with Mario Williams and all the issues he had? Reggie Bush? Matt Leinart? All ended up being pretty underwhelming once we had time to see how it played out.

Here is pick #2 the last decade:

    Ronnie Brown
    Reggie Bush
    Calvin Johnson
    Chris Long
    Jason Smith
    Ndamukong Suh
    Von Miller
    Robert Griffin III

The most recent two aren't listed. But of these listed, how many stand out as someone we'd deem worthy of such a high pick? CJ, Miller and Suh? The rest have been good at times fans expect a guy who can change a franchise with pick #2.

I usually don't get too spun up over the draft (I don't purport to be some grand judge of talent, so I typically try to see the bright side of who we choose.). Therefore, I voted "Huh".

That said, if we basically give away our #2 pick I will be more irritated than normal on draft day.

ok guys think about it like this...in three years if we trade for even just 12 and 19 which is totally giving it away...in three years if mariota busts and we got good-great starters at wr/rt/defense whoever we pick, doesnt that mean we got great trade value.
