Totally agree @Tennessy XO, I'm quick to sh!+ on Webster when he does some WTF stuff but he has handled this situation as well as you could want him to. If KW and RW really want MM and end up taking him, I am completely on board with that. If they manage to score us a sweet deal then I'm also completely on board with that.

This is very exciting. I'm just gonna be hoping and praying that this doesn't blow up in our face and we get screwed out of the guy we want or screwed out of a mega deal.

    Don't be a headware for a butt

I've said I'd love Winston here. Always said to take Greyson or petty for a competition. My stance is mett is better than mariota

Every team calls every team before the draft to gauge if they are willing to move out of that spot or what it might take. All indications are that no serious trade talks have occurred with anyone in either direction. The Bucs are calling everyone as well.....does that mean they don't like Winston?

all I know is if we pass on Mariota, we sure as hell better not waste our time on some bum ass backups like petty and everyone not named Mariota/Winston. Already have 2 backup quality QBs, need a starter that can spark this team.

You had me until "2 backup quality QBs"....did we pick someone up in FA that I am not aware of? Right now I see 1 good potential QB and 1 guy who needs to improve life skills beyond holding a Clipboard and looking "pretty".

I've seen no indication of what the Titans plan to do either way. Webster and Whiz have given generic answers just like every FO would in this situation. Pretty much everyone involved in all the trade rumors have said there has been no serious discussions, just the casual calling around inquiring about picks stuff that every team is doing right now.

I'll give Mariota a chance if he gets picked. But, I'll say he's more likely to bust because of other parts of the team that need work. You can't just throw a QB on any team and get success. Rookie QBs have success on teams that have building blocks in place already.

Notice I said 2 backup quality QBs. Not 2 quality backup QBs. I think thats pretty accurate.

Thank you RSB for posting. I nearly spit my coffee on the computer at the notion of giving Webster/Whiz credit for something that has not yet occurred. That is the crux of the problem with so many of our fans. This business is like others- you're judged off of results. And right now, Webster/Whiz have guided this team to a 2-14 record devoid of play-making talent. They traded away a 2nd rounder to move up 3 spots to the end of the 6th round. And that player made plays for the SB winning team.

I agree- lets see what happens first before we start praising these guys. I'll be the first to give Webster credit IF he can maximize the value of this #2 overall pick. My formula for max value remains based off the JJ pick value chart and where we land:

6-10: 110% of the point value
11-15: 120% of the point value
16-20: 13% of the point value

And I want to see what happen with those picks before I give them credit for "turning it around". I hope they don't stop with just getting more picks. I hope they target play-makers that have fallen and package some later round picks to move up and acquire the playmakers rather than miss out on a team just in front of us picking them. (Like has been done nearly every year in the past.)

By that definition maybe you should suit up as well LOL....CBJ may be "backup quality" for a team who is not concerned with details such as wins and losses I guess.
