I like how all the Pacman fans are talking about how it was boring.... because Pac lost. Had he won, they'd be talking about how great it was.

Mayweather is in a different league. His ability to see punches is ridiculous at his age.

Also... while everyone jokes about Floyd running and hugging during the fight.. he landed 148 punches to Manny's 81. 81 of Floyd's being power punches.

Pacquiao went in to this fighting, Mayweather out boxed him tho, Floyds style is boooooring, hoping he loses his last fight cause he sure as hell isn't 50-0 good like his record would suggest

I guess that I am one of those "clueless" people who stopped watching boxing several years ago. I started tuning out when I thought it veered too close to the WWF (back then)....the whole Tyson ear biting thing. That really made me start losing interest in the sport.

Admittedly, I have not followed Mayweather's career here, but he sounds to me to be a bit like Sugar Ray Leonard from back in the day. That said, if he is still dominating other fighters at age 38 with his style (not a bomber like Foreman) then that truly is a testament to his skill IMO.

The other stuff I read about him is very troubling though.

I'm a fan of Mayweather and while I'll never condone the beating of a women, that doesn't affect the way I look at Mayweather.

I mean, he fights for a living, I don't want him to be a Saint. I'm also a fan of Iron Mike, look at the stuff he has done.

I also like trash talking, because in boxing its only you in that ring, you gotta back it up. He does.

Thats what annoyed me with Pac. It was all god this and god that. He was too damn nice. talking about, he wants to change Floyd, that he is a good man that is troubled...

yo like get out of here with that Bull****!

thats why his trainer had to do all the smack talk lol

I hear you on that....again...did not follow all of this, but if Pac was trying to bring the personal stuff into this process that is wrong as well IMO. But again, that takes it back to the original reason I stopped following the sport....becoming too much like the WWF (now WWE) hype machine and trying to turn everything into a soap opera LOL.

However, as someone who followed this during Tyson's day (I am actually his age and was a senior in high school when he showed up on the cover of SI back in 1985)....I view his career as closer to Sonny Liston than Joe Louis. A whole lot of skill that was allowed to rot by subpar trainers after he fired his original team circa 1989. He was never the same after that. All of the criminal stuff hurt him as well, but it was the "yes men" trainers that ruined his career IMO.

Well of course. Floyd is undefeated so the mere fact of him losing would have made it a memorable fight in and of itself. And it would've most likely meant a more exciting fight, simply due to the nature of how Floyd likes to fight.

Totally agree with that. He's truly an amazing fighter. His style just doesn't lend itself to exciting fights. But at the end of the day his job is to win not to necessarily be exciting so it's not like I can blame him.

Yeah I know what you mean. It's not like I expect any of these guys to be saints. And really it's not so much even the woman beating thing that makes me hate him it's just his overall demeanor and attitude.

Now, I realize lots of guys in that world have a similar attitude and to a degree it kinda comes with the territory. But something about the fact that Floyd is damn near 40 years old and still acting like some punk teenager just really rubs me the wrong way.
