Let's trade Mettenberger to the Jets for DE Wilkerson

    I think he'd be worth giving a shot over some other QBs out there. Josh Mccown
    If Mariota turns out to be a good QB, Mett could benefit from sitting behind him and maximizing his stock. If Mett shows potential when he gets his chances and the Titans have their guy, Mett can be traded and possibly get a chance at starting elsewhere.

    That would be like trading Jurrell Casey for Mike Glennon.

    I would think so, too...but that hasn't stopped a number of pundits and many fans from talking about him like he's a future starter. If the Jets believed he is, too, they might go for some form of trade. I did mention that depending on what they thought of him, we might be able to send Pitoitua with him or something else.

    Wouldn't be the first time a player has asked to be traded.

    I would agree with that, but there are plenty who think Mett is a starter. Haven't heard anyone claim Glennon is.

    Guess you guys love Whitehurst A LOT..
    Cuz when MM tweaks a wrist or gets turf toe you'll all be crying "why don't we have a backup QB?"

    This trade would never happen.

    Besides, I prefer to keep Mett. If Mariota does go down with an injury, or busts, we atleast have a backup QB with some potential.

    That's why I said I'd rather trade Mett and try to get Aaron Murray from the Chiefs...who is currently 3rd or 4th on their QB depth chart.

    I don't think Mett would be worth much, but the point is there are plenty of people who somehow think he is an NFL starter. If they Jets would sign Fitzpatrick, I wouldn't put it past them to think Zach is potential starter.
