Reality: Dgb will most likely be worse than hunter out the gate. Outside his physical prowess - he's not a great receiver. Mentally needs to adapt to the game.

Dreams: he catches on fairly quickly on how to win match ups at this level and doesn't have to be injected in a shallow scheme based on what he can do.

Coaching Reality: he is going to get every opportunity to prove the doubters wrong to become the #1.

I wont hate on DGB, but I see Kenny Britt 2.0 in him, which could be a great thing or a terrible thing... Not gonna count on him til later anyways, Whiz never likes playing a rookie unless he has to.

    Remember this. It isn't happening...

They'll try to get him the ball here and there, but he wont get consistent play time.

And keep thinking "HE's BIG AND FAST! THE COACHES WILL PLAY ANYONE BIG AND FAST!"... nope.

That's fine, it's a forum, opinions are welcomed and I'm certainly not arguing or anything. No matter who is right, I just hope we have some wins and look better at the WR position. To me, it's not as much about size as it is where he was taken, and their lack of trust in Hunter/others. Guys don't sit immediately like they used to, and he won't have to try too hard to beat out 2 or 3 receivers. Maybe you end up right in the long term, but believe me when I tell you, they will work their hardest to get this kid pro ready and to make an impact. It's easy to forget how high this organization is on this kid. They didn't hide it at all. The kid is seen as a first round talent that fell to the second round due to off field issues....

Still think this was a "man, Hunter is most likely not gonna pan out for the team" pick.

Unless Hunter starts up the year like Kenny Britt in '09. DGB is gonna be gunning for his job and I wouldn't be surprised if he took it.

Keep in my mind, I wasn't huge fan of the pick. But I hope someone from this receiver corps steps up.

Walker can't do it by himself 2 years I a row.

Of course Harry Douglas has to learn every spot but he basically did that in Atlanta as well. Wright is an automatic starter, in the slot. That leaves 2 more starters (since we run 3 WR sets most of the time anyway). That's Hunter entering his 3rd year, 2nd round pick DGB and Douglas the vet. Douglas will start week 1 but if Hunter decides to wake up or if DGB progresses faster than we think, Douglas will have to make himself valuable somehow and being able to line up anywhere on the field is the best he can do.

I'm really hoping Kendall is our #1 receiver, 1000+ yards. But, would really love DGB to have the most TDs on the team, 10+.
