DGB is a wild card right now. It is a good idea to manage expectations with him so as not to be disappointed in this season. In the long run I think he will be great as long as he can avoid costly suspensions for conduct violations.

This year however DGB could be anywhere from starter to number 5 WR. We all know his strengths but we have to remember there are things which could make his transition to the NFL a difficult one:
    1. He did not play last year, and only played two years at Missouri
    2. He played at Missouri which run a very weird, un-NFL-like offense. He will need to adjust to things like playbooks and running routes
    3. On visits scouts said he had a very hard time understanding the most basic NFL pass pattern concepts -- How much can he learn in a short time?
    4. While in college he depended on his great physical prowess heavily for success. While that helps a lot in the NFL he needs to be more than a big guy who runs fast and can catch

Again, not saying he will not be good to start the year great. Just saying not to be shocked if it does not happen. He is still a very very raw rookie.

If I had to put money on it I would expect Wright number 1, Douglas number 2.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not PREDICTING he's gonna ball out this year. My expectations are tempered. I'm just saying I don't get how Deuce thinks it's so unbelievable that he could actually crack the top 3 this season. But I doubt he even really believes that. Just Deuce being Deuce.

I'm sure that DGB will learn one position along with having certain red zone packages.

The red zone is where this draft is going to help us. Having a guy like DGB who can physically dominate in one on one matchups on the outside is always scary to defenses. Then combining that with a QB who can extend plays and scramble should dramatically improve our red zone play.

haha I have a very rational outlook on DGB and you doubt I believe myself?

DGB at this point is a sh** receiver that is big and fast. He will have to work his ass off to be anything in this league. Do you see that happening? I don't.

Youre basing your opinion off work ethic? You could do that, but I think he's such a superior athlete he'll always be able to get by on his size and speed, thats what got him taken in the 2nd round after all, he'll use that and likely get away with it. But thats what I think will keep him from being amazing, he'll always just be good enough...

I called him a Kenny Britt 2.0, huge catch radius with some bad habits, but it can work if he just doesn't get hurt... Kenny Britt's demise wasn't his immature nature, it was tight hamstrings followed by one too many dropped balls... But for a good while the Kenny Britt show was extremely excited in spurts... I see DGB being that and hopefully more...

I don't know whether or not he'll ever be a great receiver but I certainly don't see it as farfetched that he will be better than Justin Hunter.
