With pick #2 of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

We are back into the what it's? It was what if we trade the number 2? What if Tampa takes mariota? What if Mett is better than mariota if he is drafted? We can what if all day, the decision is not ours . Let's enjoy the ride and enjoy the attention of being Tennessee Titans right now. Heck what if we win the super bowl? I'll address this and the links that came out saying he did when I get to a computer.

These pop ups are making everything impossible.

There were reports that came out saying he did, and the agent addressed them the next day.

Long story short, a rumor on a site and twitter said if we drafted Mariota, then Mett will demand a trade. Mortenson was the first to pick it up and run with it along with rotoworld. (I think) Once drafted, several media outlets jumped on it. He denied that he ever asked for a trade and said Mettenberger wants a chance to compete for the job (Per rapoport)

There are tons of discrepancies between the various media talking heads, as there always is. Eveyrone close to the situation denies that Mettenberger ever wanted out, except for a talking head. Now you mention Kiper and McShay. Surely there is a link of some sort?? I watched the draft and I did not hear that anywhere. I was in various chat rooms with over 50 people, and no one else heard it either, except for "rumors". No one watching the draft during the game day thread heard it either. Everyone in the organization (RW, Whiz, and Mett) denied this.

If the agent demanded a trade without talking to Mettenberger about it, then he would not be Mettenbergers agent anymore.

 

if we didnt just see firsthand two bust "super athlete fast qbs" maybe a lot more people would be more excited about giving it a 3rd shot.

 

but...but..metts a 0-6 6th round loser wholl never be more than a backup....if mariota doesnt look better than him day one were in trouble.

 

noone cares how nice or how hard of a worker he is,..the nicest hardest working qb was just an all time bust for us.

That's a narrow-minded way of looking at things IMO. All 3 of those guys are individuals and had/have their own list of pros and cons. Just because Locker and VY were busts does not mean Mariota will be. And it certainly doesn't mean we should never ever draft an athletic QB ever again.

I just don't get why people can't try to be excited. Mett did not show enough to just hand him the keys, plain and simple. That's not to say he won't ever be a good QB. But I don't see why some people seemingly hate Mariota right out of the gate just because they like Mett.

The bottom line is Mett is a QB who all 32 teams passed on 5+ times, then went 0-6 as a starter, and had more turnovers than touchdowns. Mariota is a QB who was thought of highly enough to not only be taken 2nd overall but to have multiple teams interested in trading up to get him. WE AS FANS SHOULD BE EXCITED.

 

He hadn't even played one down. Can't say he is the savior and can't say he is a bust. He is not VY!! He is not locker. Let's let him be Mariota and see what he can do. Innocent until proven guilty? Hmmm

 

Locker was not a "Super athlete" and not being able to run is not a plus

 

APPARENTLY being able to run isnt a plus either see:99% of running qbs.

How many reputable writers mentioned the mega trade with the Eagles and Titans.

Next day, Kelly came out and said they never made such an offer.
