The poster said he'd rather have early draft picks if Mariota busts then pick middle of the round because that's all Cutler is good enough to do, make us 8-8. HEY BIG SURPRISE TO EVERYONE, Shortbus can't follow what someone is saying.

Cutler has been to the playoffs twice in his career. He divides his teammates with many not liking him. He's a coach killer. His stats are wholly unimpressive given his turnovers and lack of yardage, and he accumulates all of that with two great WRs and a great RB.

    This idea is all Shortbus.

If Brandon Marshall is so damn good why his team willing to trade him away for nothing?

The bears sent Marshall and a 7th rd pick to the Jets for a 5th rd pick.

Exactly, Cutler is a half measure. Good but not good enough. We are better off to take a chance on a guy who might be better than to go with a guy we know is not good enough. Cutler is this generation's Jeff George.

They have not traded him. Despite all these rumors they want to trade him they didn't and just last year they gave him a lucrative long term contract.

I get the point that if they are willing to make that trade with us that means they are willing to give up on him but they like us are rebuilding and might want to go with a younger guy. The difference between us and the Bears is that we have Mett for the long term and they don't. Cutler for 2015-2016 and then Mett after is not a bad plan to me. You have the right to disagree.

By drafting Mariota we have this dicey situation where we obviously want Mett to shine but hope he doesn't clearly out play Mariota. If Mett is starting on day one it puts us in a pickle because we didn't draft Mariota to be Mett's backup.

With Cutler we have no QB controversy. Cutler the 10th year vet is the starter and Mett the #2. The plan would be for Mett to takeover in 2017. Cutler and Mett are both big armed QBs who fit the system well.

This here pretty much sums it up. NFL teams do not trade good QBs unless they have something else, which the Bears do not.
