    yea...sure.....

mariotas gonna be playing behind lewan levitre schwenke and a rt better than oher.

mett had to play behind a a guy named meredith spencer svitek and some other losers. dont even try to already make excuses for mariota. embarassing.

this o line dispatched of locker and charlie whitehurst and woulda got young palmer killed if he had to play a lil longer as well. not to mention mett the game before.

i swear this post you wrote is the biggest crock of **** i ever seen

You want to give us all the redzone numbers including his rushing stats to give the full picture or just want to cherry pick the most negative stats as usual? You want to show his TD % per throw it per completion it just the negative stuff?

i didnt cherry pick anything. jsut have a more realistic opinion of his accuracy than most. yall thinking hes gonna come in and throw 70% with a 10:1 td to int ratio are in for a long year.

also its an embarassment to this site for you to already try to make excuses for mariota.."mariota might come into a worse situation than mett played through last year" yea right....get outta here with that nonsense.

Yea his body is slightly behind. If you watch closely he drives his chest into those throws to get ample energy required.

And at times he doesn't get his lead foot pointed at his target.

Both issues are understandable from a collapsed pocket or from scrambling. I think being under center and becoming more muscle memory based with his drop/read progression and feet will actually help that.

It's easy to get sloppy from gun and rush things. Harder to get ahead of yourself without first setting your feet in a drop.

IMMIC RG3 had a 20-2 td/int or something similar. 3200-800. Now he's regressed and just a full blown mess.

Mariota will be hard pressed to do that. I'm expecting a 2-1 td-int

All offense have more difficulty in the red zone because there is no deep area to defend so the more compressed defensive players are, the more the secondary and especially safeties can impact plays they aren't normally involved in and corners can play tighter coverage. What you fail to grasp is that yes you will have tighter throws to make in general, but Mariota also brings some advantages too. His mobility hinders the flexibility of a team to run whatever coverage they want and most of the time, they can only play man when they blitz because if Mariota gets free, it's a td! Also, Mariotas mobility really helps the run game because they have to respect the qb keeping the ball so the de can't crash down on a B gap run play so one less defender to block. Mariota can also buy time for wrs to find an opening and get wide open it he can scramble for yards when nothing is open.

You're not looking big picture. Mariota completion % dropped out of the stratosphere in the rz but his scoring % INCREASED! What's the goal? To SCORE!!!

But if they just call normal passing plays, he won't be nearly as effective as he can be.

Exactly. Plays in the RZ will need to be creative for the first couple years. Boots and super heavy sets For runs. Pop passes and play actions for passes.

The only year it ever dropped "20+ %" was in 2013 when his #1 RZ target, TE Colt Lyerla bailed on the team and it took awhile to get other receivers up to speed. Colt was a big, physical target in the EZ with huge leaping ability that the scheme relied on over the middle, dragging across the back end and on fade routes.
But it was still 46% completion rate, with 21 TDs and 1 INT.

In 2014, MM's RZ completion percentage was 54.1% with 19 TDs and 1 INT, using a variety of receivers.

In 2012, his RS Freshman year, it was 64.3%, with 19 TD and zero INTs.

Compare that to ZM's college stats and it's really no contest when actual production is (number of TDs) considered.
At no time did Zach's RZ production ever approach Marcus'.

good stuff.,,,,up until that last statement...im sure many good nfl qbs didnt have that type of college production. and im sure many bad nfl qbs have..

but ya thats nice to see....ive always said for someone to prove me wrong about it but these guys just whine "waaa mariotas the goat how dare you speak ill of him waaaah"

    good post

i also havo 0 interest in comparing zachs and mariotas college stats...one reason is zach has nfl pplaying time already so judging him by college stats is dumb...another is completely different styles of offense....lsu and oregon are so far apart style wise it bears no real meaning. but again, good post
