No gimmes. Sounds like people whining they're not given free points. I thought football was about being better and scoring via being superior...not gimmes.

I agree taking PAT completely would be OK. But, being mad that 30 teams decided to make "gimmes" a little harder just seems stupid. It's still going to be very high percentage success wise. Adding an element of further game play makes sense to me as a fan. I don't watch for "gimmes." I watch to see which team bests the other by being better.

I really just wished they gave the PAT for free. A) its pointless. B) could save us a commercial.

Atleast this makes it slightly less pointless I guess.

Yeah that, but they have to touch the ball to the ground, that is where it is kicked from. Try happens when they cross the goal line. I do not explain it well without having like 500 words lol.

When I played youth football (pre-teen) you would get 2 points for kicking and 1 point for bringing it over the goal line. It was reversed lol.

Im not a big fan of taking the foot out of football. I like the fact that they moved it back but still think the pat should remain regardless.

Kickoffs and punts should also remain.. i just wish there was more emphasis on wrapping up the tackle rather than going for that big hit

I am OK with this....didn't clamor for it, but ok with it.

I do agree that it makes penalties by the offense more relevant. Moving back 5 yards means a 37 yard kick, for example.

What would also be interesting is to spread the hash marks further apart like college football IMO.

Widening the field would make the nfl more intresting, the hash marks in college are much farther apart then in the nfl, that's a major reason so many different offenses can work at the lower level. The nfl uses closer hashes to even the playing field and make things harder. It's actually surprising they don't change the hashes, they do everything else to help offenses thrive.
