AMEN!! It has been a VERY long time since we have seen a QB start & finish a season in TN. Changing QBs every freaking week has got to be rough on the oline & WRs.

I am among those that wanted to see what Mett could do with an improved roster. However, knowing that he did not win a game last year and had several INTs I was concerned that CBJ was the only alternative.

I really hope that MM can be successful for the good of the team. I like what he did in college. He did not play in a pro style offense, but I do not think it was as bad as a lot of people thought. All the kid did was win. He has an amazing TD/INT ratio. If he can bring that ratio & over 4400yds of passing offense to the Titans I do not think anyone will complain!! I know it will not be as easy to do so & is not very likely to happen at this level; but man that would be exciting. LOL

I believe MM has all the skills it takes to make it. WAY too much is being made of his quiet personality. His players at Duck Central loved him. In every interview I saw they all talked about not wanting to let Marcus down; or wanting to win the game for him. If he can be as humble as he is; and still inspire very young men to rally around him I do not think his personality will be an issue. I actually find his lack of a cocky attitude refreshing. It is very rare to see these days in the NFL. It doesn't mean he is not competitive or lacks the desire or fire to win. It just seems to me he was raised not to be arrogant & to treat others with respect.

His college stats & win/loss record is very impressive. I know the NFL is another level. I know he will have his ups & downs in the NFL. I also believe that if we take our time with him & transition him properly he will be a Franchise QB. His rookie year needs to have a lot of the elements that made him a college star; along with elements of what TN wants to eventually run. Each year he should get a bit more of that system that TN wants to run. However, I think it would be a huge mistake to take those elements that made him a college star completely out of his game. He will have to transition to a much more pro style offense, but keeping part of his college game only makes sense as it is part of what makes him a player worth taking at #2.

Actually, Mariota looked very average vs Florida State- which is what I expect to see from him in the NFL.

His numbers look decent because he threw screen passes all game long and depended on YAC.

All his other throws were pretty bad.

Every good defense he played- he screen-passed them to death. Won't work at the next level.

What? Mariota ran 43 screens last year, the Chicago Bears and many other pro teams called upwards of over 80 screens. Thats such a load of crap people are so wrong about.

1/3 of his passes were screen passes vs Florida State.

not that I agree with your analysis but yes when MM played a D that was not awful he looked human.

But projecting into the NFL all I can ask for at this point is the actually try and learn. Locker had the mental but his body was not NFL. Hopefully MM has an NFL body.
