How can you judge how good of a season he has as a passer if you dont know his passing stats?

well if he has 1000 rush yards its very unlikely his passing stats are that great. im just going by the norm. can you show me a rookie whos ever had 1000 rush yards and good pass stats? and then went on to have a good long career???

Oh wait, that didn't happen!!! Chip has been successful offensively as well as the Seahawks with Wilson. Even Peyton Manning was in the Shotgun 70% of the time last year.

You can make as many assumptions as you want but the FACT is you are judging a players success or failure without knowing his passing stats which just shows your hatred! Why don't you root for another team since you clearly hate our starting qb for no good reason!

 

shotgun does not mean a damn thing. offenses happen after the snap not by formation.

He was drafted to be QB. He was a very good one in college. I like Mett I do, but Mett had Beckham, Landry, Hill, Blue, etc on his offense. How did the team do? And I agree, if don't like the pick or the QB, why be a Titans fan. I didn't like the Locker pick at all, I Actually wanted them to trade down and draft Dalton. But I am a fan and went with the pick. It's time to be a fan. I guess if Mett goes to Houston and lights it up you could be a Texans fan then. Good luck with that.

Let's see, the Seahawks run a similar 'gimped' offense with the zone read and have been to 2 Super Bowls. Works pretty damn well in the playoffs with a young QB!!!

Why would you even think about MM having 1000 rushing yards as a rookie, in the history of the NFL a QB has had a 1000 yards season running the ball exactly 1 time, and that was Michael Vick before prison

 

I had originally said between 500 and 1000 yards and the conversation spiralled out from there. And really, the 1000yard thing just showed the haters considering no mention was made of passing stats and some people were already saying he'd be a bust if he had 1000 yards rushing. LOL For those people, he'll be a 'bust' almost no matter what he does.

 

I don't care if Mariota rushes for 2,000 yards as long as he wins games. People like 520 need to get their head out of their ass and realize this is Mariotas team, like it or not.

You can't damn the kid as a bust before he ever hits the field. Crying on a forum won't keep him from hitting the field. So sit back and see how it works out.
