my favorite part of that film also
the chase scene where the fuel truck 'flips' off camera was a total cheat. They could not afford to actually wreck one of those things? Or something that looked enough like one at least!

The last hour was good. I thought it was good overall, not sure what I expected though.

I'd have to rematch that moment. I really did like the part where he chased the truck down that tunnel - then on foot thru the old dead buildings etc. Part of the reason I like 70's NYC action flicks is because of the Bronx wreckage. There is an old Albert Finney movie called Wolfen that pretty much entirely takes place in that environment..

Mad Max: Fury Road is what a summer movie is supposed to be. A 2-hour car chase movie with awesome in-screen special effects.

Also, I had a little X-Men marathon last night. I watched X-Men, X2 and The Last Stand. After watching them all together I'm going to go against popular opinion and rank them X2, Last Stand and then X-Men.

X-Men was the first of this "new" generation of superhero movies. It was really just another 90-minute summer movie. The characters and storylines were underdeveloped. No exploration of villains like Sabertooth and Toad. In fact, those two were literally just thrown away at the end. Sabertooth could have been a lot of fun to flesh out.

Man, I hate car chase scenes. Looks like I will probably not be seeing this anytime soon haha

X-Men hasn't aged to well when you compare it to more recent movies.

Saw Entourage on Wednesday night. Loved it. Ari stayed true to himself, E was still my least favorite character, Turtle was actually entertaining, and Drama was Drama. Rumor is if the first does well, they'll schedule two more movies.

Also saw Insidious 3 last night. It was actually a pretty good movie 2/3 in and then it was like the bottom just fell out. That's a Red Box movie. Still very excited for Sinister 2 in August.

To be fair, the entire damn series is one long car chase.

I'll eventually catch up to all the new movies being mentioned but right now I'm so immersed in watching all the seasons of Deep Space 9 that I should of watched 20 years ago. Nightcrawler is on my list to watch as a change up from my science fiction marathon.

    Ex Machina - 9/10

Favorite movie of this year, but I think it's honestly the first movie of 2015 I've seen (unless American Sniper and Foxcatcher count) though.

Plan on seeing Entourage and Mad Max soon. Outside of those, I couldn't name a single new movie that interests me. But I haven't looked.

All year long, I check my Fandango app every few weeks to see what's in theaters... Absolutely NOTHING. All the time. 2013 was such a strong year for movies. 2014 blew ass. 2015 is off to a horrible start.
