Agreed. Show me first, then I'll believe. We still have a major hole on D of being able to stop the run that we didn't even come close to addressing this offseason.

We ranked 31st in yards/game against the rush, tied for 3rd most TD's given up on the ground, and had the most rushes against us last year. And we didn't do anything to help that. That's a major hole that the team has decided to ignore.

Everyone wants to talk about how we need more TOP, and to improve our O to help our D, but when you can't stop the run you sure as hell can't get off the field.

it works, Ive seen dozens of 2-14 type teams go to 9-7, 8-8, etc the year following.

Yup, they go 9-7 and 8-8 for a couple years then the weeds start back again. They slowly choke out the healthy grass. Those damn dandelions start spreading their seeds and wham....weed city again. Gotta have a true gardener in charge of your lawn to keep it green. I don't know if we have that yet

People are gonna get sick of these grass references soon.

Yes, when your offense can't stay on the field, the defense is constantly on there instead.

    Good job.

Waaaaaaaay to early to ask this question, ask me again at years end. Hopefully Mariota will show us he can be a franchise QB and our defense isn't a complete joke, but we'll see!

JCBrave theory about keep planting grass takes about 3-4 years to work. The quick fix for getting rid of weeds is tear up the lawn by grind up the dirt destroying the roots in the process! Lay down new top soil, pack it in tight (create a foundation), lay down more top soil then lay down either sod or throw out grass seeds (new grass). It's more expensive to do it this way, but the long term product is the best!

The point is to get rid of weeds you tear up the existing foundation and rebuild it. For this analogy to work, we should have blew up this team during the offseason, installed a culture which becomes our foundation of the future. I would have definitely supported this approach, but I'm hopeful of the approach we are currently taking. lol

Wrong. Fescue plus 2,4 D equals a green weed free lawn. I'll be your gardener...
