That was never my point though. Toronto said you should never give gtd money to a back who isn't even top 25 at his position. I then asked what criteria you should use to determine something like "top 25" if not stats.

Obviously stats enter into the equation. But you are right, FO's aren't making signing based solely on stats. However the fact that he just had back-to-back 1K seasons clearly shows that he was capable of getting it done. Sitting here and complaining about 4.5 gtd for a guy like that is beyond silly to me.

This. It's like this team looks for players who can't play.

No one disputes this, but stats probably matter less for running backs than any other position.

Greene churned out 1,000 slow, painful yards with the Jets. He was the exact opposite of dynamic. He was used up.

It is beyond stupid to give guaranteed money to a running back like that. I'm not sure teams should ever give running backs (Adrian Petersons of the world aside) a second contract. Just get a fresh new rookie. Invest your resources elsewhere.

The Greene signing in no way ruined the last two Titans' seasons, but it's a sign the team isn't a progressive thinker in certain areas.

FA running backs are almost always bad for business

Like I said, not gonna keep arguing about Shonn Greene.

I don't necessarily disagree with this. It's the most "plug and play" position on offense (aside from the APs of the world like you said). But that's just not the way the league is. RBs get second contracts all the time. People who are proven commodities are always going to be in demand.

I'm still mad we let Blount walk and passed on Isaiah Crowell. But those are the choices our professionals made. And they are the professionals so they know better than us right @TorontoTitanFan ? I mean who are you a Titans poster to think you know better than the Titans front office regarding the RB position?

Yeah I was pissed when Fisher tried to get all cute and "sneak" the highest profile undrafted FA in that year's class onto the practice squad. Gee, who could've foreseen how that was gonna turn out?

I'm a big fan of Crowell too.

I've said a lot of dumb things about football over the years. You should try calling me out on some of those instead of inventing something that I never said.

How'd that work out this past year with Sankey? Those are really big ideas for a team that is so terribly bad at drafting RBs. You can never predict injuries, and to ***** and whine about a guy who coming off 2 consecutive 1000 yd seasons signed for 4.5 guaranteed over 3yrs, is just a waste of time.
