Calm down he'll be signed before long, like all the other 1st round picks the titans sign. Still a month left before training camp.

 

Marcus Mariota - QB - Titans
Coach Ken Whisenhunt suggested the Titans will use Marcus Mariota similarly to Russell Wilson.

"The league does a good job trying to protect quarterbacks, but any time a quarterback takes off with the ball there's a risk," Whisenhunt said. "There will be (designed) opportunities, but there will also be a lot of opportunities, just like with Russell Wilson, when the play breaks down and he runs with the ball and extends the play." With 4.52 wheels, the Titans would be silly not to use Mariota on designed runs. There's QB2 appeal here with low-end QB1 upside.

Hopefully he spends a real amount of time learning how to slide. Wilson is probably the best at knowing when and how to slide in the league, and I'm sure that has played a part in his ability to run and still be healthy.

Locker and VY both said they were going to learn how... Then they never slid. Or when they did, it was more dangerous than getting tackled because it was wonky as ****.

 

If he can just play at Russell Wilson's level I will be content.

 

If we get Wilson like production from him we sit pretty at 2-14 again

 

I don't like the comparison, it's too early to try to implement a system for a QB based on a different QB who had success. Especially using Russell Wilson because he has the super team built around him, he really only has to be a game manager and occasionally make plays, whereas Mariota will have to due heroic things to put Tennessee in the playoffs.
