    Watched Foxcatcher.
Am I the only one coming away from this movie with the idea that Steve Carrel is just playing a creepier Michael Scott here?
And to be honest, Tatum and Ruffalo were kinda creepy too.

Don't get me wrong, I am by no means saying it's good. Just watchable if you're desperate for something to watch if you have absolutely nothing else better to do with your time.

I have definitely seen worse movies/comedies.

    Jurassic World - 7/10

The key is to go in with no expectations. It's a lot better if you don't expect anything ground breaking and suspend belief more than usual.

Yep. I agree. I'd give it a 7.5. It is overhyped. Chris Pratt is golden in comedy, but his serious acting scenes are not nearly as good. I don't think he would be a good indiana jones because I don't think he can pull off being a doctor. Misfit hero is the role he was born to play.

JW was just a fun summer ride. Nothing they can do can match the pure scariness of the original in the 90s. It was worth seeing though.

    ----Very minor spoiler----

The flying dinosaurs have a higher body count than the main monster. Surprised about that.

There are only three real monsters.

Dracula, Blacula and The Song of Kong

I haven't seen any of the original Jurrasic Parks beyond the first one and even then it's been a long time since I have seen it so maybe I can go into the movie with no expectations.

I watched all of them, but forgot all of them besides the first. The 2nd 2 JPs were just cash grabs from the 1st.

The first one is the only memorable one. The pure amazingness of the CG and the puppetry of the Dinosaurs for being over 20 years ago in the first one are unmatchable.
Good lord, It's barely aged at all. That's how stunning it was in the original movie.

If you look at other things from even later, like Lucas' rapings of the original Star Wars in the 90s, you can see some examples on horrible 90s CG. It looks tacky, and makes the originals worse.

JP was a masterpiece, even if the ending was way too convenient and stupid. This movie's is, too.

Long story short, you can ignore that JP2 and 3 exist, and you won't miss a thing.

But you can't beat the original T-Rex reveal, and the chillingness of that creature in the movie, or the Raptors'.

It's like they mention in the new movie.. Seeing a Triceratops is like seeing an Elephant to people, now. Same goes for the movie. The only real "wow" creature was the giant, jumping water dinosaur that everyone saw in the previews.

In the 1st movie, you felt like the dinosaurs were "really there" in this one, they look good, but it's less so.

They've already said they're making at least 1 more.. but how many times can you make a dinosaur park, and the dinosaurs get out?

Between JP, Westworld and Futureworld it appears that Michael Crichton has been wrestling with amusement park trauma throughout his life.
