So if they are tested that much, then how did Lance get away with it? They are using and you know it. 90% or more are getting away with some type of performance enhancing drug.

Of course I know it...all cycling fans knew it. LA never got caught...why...probably because HE was CYCLING during that era. The powers that be didn't want to know. Truth is that, I would guess, 80% more of the peloton during that time and the preceding 20-30 years were "doping". Nothing new in that. BTW, today, currently in cycling, I would say very few do.....or at least to the point of getting caught. What is rumored to be happening now is micro dosing with EPO type products (blood enhancers). That is to say that they, (the ones doing it) are dosing at such a low level that the test can't detect it. That is the rumor anyways. On a side note I really don't like the media driven term "doping" as it suggests steroids and the like. Cyclists wouldn't want to use those as they could/would build bulk...cycling and bulk don't go together.

Yeah, not that I know much about cycling as I do not follow the sport, but I doubt steroids would be used. Don't they use things that enhance the the red blood cells in the body? Oxygen carrying capacity for endurance and the like.

That's what EPO does. Usually they do one of two things. EPO as I said or sometimes they draw their own blood...store it...then take an infusion of it just prior to a big race. Sort of like "turbo" charging your cardio system...very dangerous of course to the athletes. Some died during the 70's-80's using this technique (it is alleged) before it was "refined".

I read an article that LA was busted because eventually the technology was able to catch up with what he was doing. Not sure of the specifics but the frogs were out to get LA and every time there was a leap in technology they would retest his old Tour D'Forg samples. Eventually they busted him
