    If I could pull in the locals, I'd make the jump. So far, I've not been able to pick up much with any of the digital antennas I've tried.

    Due to obstacles between the tower and you, may need to try a juiced up antenna. But requires an investment that might not work.

    If there was a guy out there who did this as a service so different antennas could be tested, I'd give it a try. I'd spend a few hundred if it meant cutting the cable.

    Also depends on elevation to tower. If you are higher than the tower... could be bad.

    But more likely, it could be a distance from the tower... as the signal drops lower the farther away you are.

    I'll be looking into an antenna with a booster... about 15-20 miles from towers up here. But I'm also nearly even elevation.

    Possibly $150-$200 investment to find out.

    Same here. Netflix, Hulu and HBOgo could keep me busy for the most part but I gotta have those local channels for football. And unfortunately they don't pick up via antenna where I live.

    I live in Columbia which is like 40+ miles outside of Nashville. According to one of those antenna websites I could maybe pick up ABC and PBS but that's it.

    find a HD antenna that has rabbit ears on it. Other than Channel 4 and 8 I get all of the local channels.
    Walmart has a set for 17.00 maybe less. The one that goes outside your house is 39.00

    If neither one works take them back

    The sucky thing about the new antennas is all the wire running you have to do if you need to go higher than ceiling to get reception. Wonder if there is a way you can use the built in cable coaxial that already goes outside?

    Geographically, if you live North or Due East of Nashville you will have reception problems because of the gradual elevation changes. For instance, my home in Smith County lies in the bottom of a valley between 2 large hills. I can't get cell reception or antenna reception there, and back in the day the only way to have something other than the very basic TV was the ole C-Band Dish. The land between the Boro and Nashville is relatively flat so that may be why my reception is so good.
