On his radio show on 102.5, a caller asked about the draft and he went very in depth about it. Maybe someone can find it and add it to the thread. A few interesting points from him

    - Bud never made any football choice and made Floyd pick/trade/cut any player

    - Night before the draft, without direct words, he made it very clear to Floyd that he wanted VY and even wanted to trade with NO to make the pick

    - Bud called Floyd morning of the draft and apologized for stepping to far the night before and for Floyd to do what he wanted, but Floyd said it didn't really change anything and knew what he had to do.

    -Norm Chow wanted Lienhart

    - Floyd wanted Cutler and would have traded back a few spots and drafted Cutler if it was fully his call. (Man, I wonder what we would look like if we did that...

Interesting few minutes with him. Gave good insight into those few days.

Wouldn't have been as bad...but Cutler still sucks for what he is paid.

VY was the best choice at the time and would still be the QB here if not for Jeff Fisher.

Cutler is the worst type of QB there is, just good enough to keep your team hanging around, but bad enough not to ever take a team anywhere.

    VY>Lienart>Cutler

Hell, Id even have 2 more Jake Lockers before id take a Jay Cutler, have you in football purgatory for 15 years..

Its tough to argue that who is now is who he would be if we drafted him. That was 8 years ago. He would have played all those years at home and who knows what else happens. Same with how he is paid. No way to tell what happened there, happens here.

I wish we could go back and draft him. I cant see it being any worse than we were these last few years and could only see him being a better person/player than he is now.

reason its not the worst move on Chicago's part is because of Tim Tebow being the best QB coming out the year they traded all those picks for Cutler, otherwise trading 4 picks for a 8-8 type QB is stupid.

VY was still indeed the best pick for us.

We'll still be in the same boat as we were last year, needing a QB. We wouldn't have went through so many if we picked Culter though.
